Passed away at LHSC – University Hospital on Friday, October 15, 2021 of Lucan, at the age of 79. Beloved husband of Willemtje (Berends) Yule for 55 years. Proud father of Christopher Yule and Krisan Mommersteeg of Lucan, and Stephen Yule of London. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Walter Yule, and Dorothy Chappel, Hielke and Jean Berends, and John Melzer and Helen Burnett. Predeceased by his parents Wilson V. and Lois E. (Prance) Yule, and his brother Lawrence Yule.
Bill was an award winning mechanic, and an avid marksman in target shooting. He won many awards including an Ontario Championship in 1980, presented by government officials of the Province of Ontario. He was into primitive shooting, and camping. He attended and displayed at various steam shows. His latest hobby was machining and replicating working steam models. Bill was involved in the scouting movement for several years in Manitoba and Ontario.
Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, LUCAN on Wednesday, October 20th from 10 – 11 AM, where the funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM. Cremation with interment Kirkton Union Cemetery. Due to Provincial COVID-19 restrictions, each person must RSVP for the visitation and/or the service, please click “Register Now” below to register.

I was very saddened to hear of Bill’s passing. I worked with Bill when I was a young mechanic at Frayne Chev-Olds. He was such an accomplished technician and taught me a great deal. I was always so impressed at how quickly he got jobs done, always “beating the clock”, yet he never appeared to be in a rush. A methodical and meticulous man who made every move count. Bill’s cheerful and calm demeanour was rare and admirable. I always enjoyed our chats over the years when we’d bump into one another. He will be sorely missed.
