A man outstanding in his field, passed away peacefully with a rare condition, Multiple System Atrophy, on Thursday, March 4, 2021, at the age of 85. In the last days, he was surrounded by his family at Laurie and Bruce’s home, as we all said goodbye to our soft spoken gentleman. Beloved husband of the late Doris (Levy) Westman. Cherished father of Barbara Westman, Laurie Westman and Bruce Zinger, and James and Dini Westman. Proud grandpa of Liam, and Hardy. Adored by his special friend, Florence Armstrong. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Margaret and Jim Zelinski, Bernice Cooke, Ann Watson, Donna Westman, and Bob Steele. Eldon will be sadly missed by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Harold and Edna (Kerslake) Westman, brothers Eric and Douglas, and his sister Laurel.
Eldon was a former board member for the Tri-County Heritage Club and Ontario Bean Board. He was a well respected member of the Kirkton Woodham Optimist Club, Mitchell Pioneer Club, the Masonic Tudor Lodge No. 141 A.F. & A.M. – G.R.C.- Mitchell, and Order of the Eastern Star. Eldon was the ultimate gentleman, and a true gentle man. Eldon had a passion for Allis Chalmers tractors…there was “no red in his shed”.
Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, LUCAN on Sunday afternoon from 1 – 3 PM. Due to Provincial COVID-19 restrictions, each person must RSVP for the visitation. Please click “Register Now” below to register.

Donations to Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Tanya Thornton, all the staff of the Southwest LHIN for their care and compassion, Don at Better Ways for Seniors, and all of the specialists involved in Eldon’s care.
