I wish to send my condolences to the family. Vivienne was like a grandmother to my brothers and I. For as long as I can remember she has shared in all our family celebrations and supported us through the hard times. We will remember her always as the strong and generous lady that she was. I wish we could be there to honour her. Please know that we are thinking of you, and our hearts are with you.

    Rose and Howie,
We are thinking of you and Cynthia and the rest of your family members at this difficult time. I was thrilled to have the opportunity to meet your mom when we enjoyed lunch together at the tearoom. She was a real live-wire, curious, full of joy—a true inspiration to me.
May you cherish the precious memories you have of your mom and may they be a comfort to you at this time. Know that you are loved, and in our thoughts and prayers.

Your mom was a wonderful person. Always cheerful and friendly. When I was a young girl she was my brownie leader. I can&&single&&t remember if she was “Brown Owl” or “Tawny Owl”, but either way she had a wonderful way with children and youth. She taught us many crafts and handy bits of knowledge.

As I grew up in Seaforth I would run into her from time to time and she was always interested in what I was doing. Such a nice lady she was. I missed her when she moved away from Seaforth, and knowing that she has left this world….I miss her even more.

May good memories of your wonderful mother help to bring you comfort in the days and weeks ahead.

First she was Mrs. Newnham to me and then she became known as Grandma to me, Jonathan and Peter. Throughout the years we have remained friends and always considered each other as family. She was a good, kind soul who was forever optimistic as she traveled through her life. The beauty of the world around her gave her peace and comfort. She will be missed but always loved.

I am so sorry to hear that Vivienne has passed away. She and your father were really great neighbours when I was in Seaforth. Always willing to share their love of gardening. I know how much she missed Bob and am glad they are now together, continuing their travels and tending to a beautiful garden! The lawn chairs I bought from them are still on my front porch and used often. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Joanne Hickey

It is with great sorrow to hear of Vivienne&&single&&s passing! I have only known her as a caregiving client for the past few months. She has always shown a sweet disposition, a gentle and caring side; no matter the hardships that kept darting her direction. She was a true and gentle woman who touched my soul, and I know how loved she was by her devoted family. I pray that all family and friends, new and old can find the strength in moving forward and realized how blessed we&&single&&ve been by her crossing our paths!

    To Cynthia, Rosemary and Michael:
We were privileged to know Vivienne through our work with
her on the Van Egmond Foundation Board of Directors.
Vivienne was definitely an adventurous and courageous lady
with a love for life. She was also a good teacher of the
history of the Van Egmond Foundation.
We would have personally expressed our sympathy to the
Newnham family with attendance at the celebration of
Vivienne&&single&&s life at the St. Thomas Anglican Church in Seaforth
but we are currently in the Rio Grande Valley of Southern Texas
    at Donna.
