VISSCHER: Pieter of Exeter

At South Huron Hospital, Exeter on Friday, January 9, 2015, of Exeter in his 89th year.  Beloved husband of Julie (Brouwer) (Knip) Visscher, and the late Willy (Oldenhuis) Visscher (2001).  Dear father of Mary and John VanEs of Kitchener and Bert and Wilma Visscher of Exeter.  Dear grandfather of Jason and Jess, Melanie and Mark, Joel and Sarah; Henrietta, Jeanette and Paul, Peter and Sandra, Tanya and Pete, Harmony and Marco, and Marianne and Josh; and great-grandfather of 25 great-grandchildren.  Dear brother and brother-in-law of Jacoba Veerman of Apeldoorn, The Netherlands. Also remembered by Julie’s children: Anne and Mike Flikkema of Strathroy, Fred and Dita Knip of Lacombe, Alberta, Bert and Elaine Knip of Exeter, Harry and Marg Knip of Exeter, Ruth and Earl McNab of Kerwood, John and Kathie Knip of Huntersville, North Carolina, Julia and Tom Dickins of Hensall, and Teresa and Mike Buckman of Zurich.  Fondly remembered by Amy and Joe Lubbers of Exeter and Tara and Tyler Obre of St. Josephs. Predeceased by daughter-in-law Tina Visscher (2012) and sister Lutz Wiersma.

Friends may call at the Haskett Funeral Home, 370 William Street, Exeter (1 street west of Main) on Monday evening 7-9 PM.  The funeral service will be held at the Exeter Christian Reformed Church, 330 Huron Street West, Exeter on Tuesday, January 13th at 11 AM with Pastor Kevin teBrake officiating.  Private family interment Exeter Cemetery.

Donations to the Huron Christian School, Clinton would be appreciated by the family.

Memorial Tree

Each year we hold a tree dedication ceremony at Morrison Dam in Exeter. We purchase a tree to be planted in memory of the lives lost from the previous year.

Our Service Coverage Area

Service AreaWe are always willing to go where called upon but this image shows a visual of the communities that our included in our initial transportation fee. We offer a 40km radius from any of our 5 locations (Arva (London), Exeter, Lucan, Seaforth, and Zurich). Any mileage beyond the included 40km will be charged a rate of $2.50/km (one way travel only).

Potential Additional Transportation Fees

$150 - If transport requires more than one person, additional fee charged per person required
$150 - If transport occurs outside Mon-Fri, 9-5 business hours
