At home, surrounded by the love of his family, Cornelius (Case) Van Der Loo of Ilderton in his 87th year on April 10, 2018. Cherished husband of Rhea (Van Gorp) for 60 years. Dedicated and dearly loved father of Connie and Mike Bontje, Lynda Martens and Michael Wilmot, Tracy and Chris Gooyers, and Lisa and Jeremy Tomalin-Reeves. He joins in heaven his beloved son Michael (1983). Cherished Opa of Erica (Denis) Stapleton, Micaela (Kent) Cherevaty, Katelyn (Scott) Thom, Leah (Tim) Van Lith, Lauren Bontje; Lara (Ryan) Coward, Justin (Lindsay) Martens, Lucas (Chelsea) Martens; Aaron, Brian (Graeme), Matthew, and Kendra Gooyers; Ethan, and Chloe Tomalin-Reeves. His twelve beloved great-grandchildren will miss his jokes and laughter. Sadly missed by siblings Martha and Ria in Holland. Predeceased by siblings Annie, Mia, and Jos. Also sadly missed by the VanGorp family – Ann and Bill, Case and Anne, Liz and Gerry, Agnes and Lloyd, John and Chris, Corry and Rance, and his many nieces and nephews in Holland and Canada. Case loved farming for many years in Middlesex Centre and owned and operated the Fox Golf Club for over 20 years. The family is grateful for the kind care given to Case by the 4th floor at University Hospital and at home by Dr. Leger, the VON, and St. Elizabeth Health Care.
Friends may call at the Haskett Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, Lucan on Friday, April 13th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Prayers will be said in the funeral home on Friday evening at 6:45 PM. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick Church, 32922 Richmond Street, Lucan on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 11 AM with Father Ross Bartley presiding. Interment St. Patrick Cemetery, Lucan.
