We are so saddened to hear of Don’s sudden passing. Although we only met Don in recent years it felt like we knew him an eternity. He was always so kind to our daughter Britt (who was his neighbor) and for that we will always be thankful. Don enjoyed sharing his garden with all of his friends, family and neighbors, we especially loved his rhubarb. Don, I hope you are planting those veggie seeds with a glass of wine in hand and you have a smile on your face, as we will have when we think of the you, the sweetest man we had the pleasure of knowing.

Condolences to all of the family.

Don was a very popular teacher both with students and staff at CHSS. In retirement, he had an uncanny ability to recall where students sat in his classroom. He will be missed in the community.

To Don’s family and extended family,
We first met Don and Jay in Fl. having rented their place our first year there 20 years ago. There were many discussions around the pool about many important subjects..a lot about “gifted” grandkids and his idea of what gifted meant. Fridays at the Moose was a highlight!! It was always a pleasure to chat with him both in Fl. or here at home.
Don will be sorely missed by his family and many friends..RIP Don💙

To the Tremeer & Scott Famiies – Don’s passing is a very difficult loss to accept as we travelled many miles together over the years . I first met Don at the end of a shuffleboard table , at the Queens, in the late sixties and I was impressed with his game. As we chatted,we found that we were both returning to our roots as educators. I asked if he was interested in curling and his positive response resulted in fifty plus years of friendship and curling together in different bonspiels and competitions and clubs. He was the “Rock” of our manyteamates over the years,Truly a wonderful friend, athlete and educator.
RIP Don – Thanks for all the Great Memories! You will be missed by All

I had to pleasure of living next to Don for 5 years & created a wonderful friendship with him. I knew we were going to get along just fine when he showed up to introduce himself with a huge smile, bottle of his homemade red wine & fresh rhubarb from his garden. From there we would meet up multiple times a month in the back yard for camp fires , wine & great conversations, which usually started with “well back in my day” and ended with a big laugh. Although I hadn’t lived next to don for the past year, we always kept in contact & looked forward to getting together. He will be deeply missed. My sincere condolences to his family & friends, he was a great one.
