STEWART: Kenneth “Kenny” of London

July 28, 2024 By Haskett Funeral Homes 4 Condolences

STEWART: Kenneth “Kenny” of London
In memory of Kenneth (Kenny) Harry Stewart, 70, who sadly passed away on Friday May 17, 2024. Born on July 27 1953 in Montreal, Quebec. Kenny is survived by his children; daughter, Alison, and sons, Patrick and Kyle,  sisters, Lois, Maureen, and Cathy, nephews Jason, Dan, Jeff, Jer, Brett, and Chris. Predeceased by his parents, Charles and Betty, and his niece Lindsay.

Kenny always found joy in sports. He played football and coached the Westpark Steelers with his father for many years. Kenny continued to coach over the years in both hockey and soccer with training camps, and with his sons, Patrick and Kyle. Kenny’s love of hockey always showed as he would enjoy watching hockey games, and cheering for his favourite team, The Toronto Maple Leafs!

Kenny had the drive to guide others. His passion to teach physical education, as well as teaching his second passion in life, World Religions, were both paths he enjoyed in his career for many years until his retirement in 2004. Kenny will be remembered with his love of sports, and teaching. He also enjoyed watching Sci-fi and Action shows. Some of his favourites were; Star Trek, Alien(s), Predator, Terminator, Rambo, Rocky, and Indiana jones series.

At our father’s request, no funeral services will be held.

I have fond memories of Kenny when we were both kids. I remember he had sense of humour, and I can still hear his distinctive laugh. I admired him for his talent and his toughness as a football player and a hockey player. He had a hard-nosed but strongly ethical approach to sports, along with a passion to teach, traits that he had in common with his father. Players who had him as a coach and students who had him as a teacher were indeed fortunate. I was deeply saddened to hear of his passing. My sincerest condolences to Alison, Patrick, and Kyle.
