    Sandy, Stacey, and family.

I have just heard today, of Carol’s passing. To say I am shocked and saddened is an understatement. I am so very disappointed I was not able to attend Carol’s funeral. Your Mom and Dad were special to the Byrne family, we so enjoyed having them as neighbours when we lived in Huron Park. They attended many Byrne celebrations, and we were Blessed to have them both in our life. I caught up with Carol on a few occasions over the years, most recently when I was living in Exeter recently. I too enjoyed spending time with Carol at a fidget making session. What a wonderful Soul she was. I don’t have to tell you how much she will be missed by the many people who knew her. RIP Carol I know you were greeted by your Love when you entered Heaven

Our condolences to the family of this wonderful woman. As I read some of the other condolences there is no doubt what kind of woman Carol was. As a close neighbour I would see her working in her yard and take my dog over with me for a chat with her. More often then not we would run into each other at the grocery store on Tuesdays and yes chat some more.
She will be deeply missed by her neighbours and the village. She had a big heart, kind words and always a smile.
    We will miss her

On behalf of the Huron Hockey School family, I wish to express our condolences to Carol’s family.
Sandy and Stacy were just kids, When we launched Huron Hockey School in 1970,
Tom Somerville became our camp director and Carol our office administrator. For many years, at our Huron Park / Centralia campus, Carol was the glue that held the office together. The den mother that nurtured our young student-athletes. Carol spoke in a slow, soft tone of voice that seemed to calm every situation. She soothed homesick students, she reminded them to make their beds and take showers. She reassured anxious parents, who left their child at camp for the first time. During the winter she was our registrar, accountant. Her dining room table was our western office.
At the same time, she was a devoted wife, a dedicated mom to her two girls and an active member of her church and community. Carol was a rare individual. A person who exuded a positive spirit, someone, who gave of herself to help others.
I treasured her friendship for over 49 years. She will be greatly missed by all of us who knew her.

Dear Sandy, Craig & Somerville family,

I am so very sorry for your loss. In fact, I find it hard to believe…a reminder of our own mortality, perhaps?
I really enjoyed your Mom’s company when we would meet by chance in the community and share updates on health and family. The most recent being a sewing session at the Exeter library, where we sat shoulder to shoulder, making fabric hearts for Jessica’s House. I sewed and she would turn my hearts right side out, ready for completion. She told me of Gage and Dayna. She was so very proud of each one of you . She was a good woman.
