Tom passed away peacefully in Mississauga on March 7, 2021 at the age of 72, after a battle with colon cancer. Cherished son of Blanche (Adams) (101 years old) and the late Donald F.A. Slater. He will be greatly missed by his brother Fred, his sister-in-law Anna Todorovich and his nephews Alexander, Evan, and Justin. Tom studied biology and was an avid outdoorsman and photographer. He loved to play tennis and table tennis. In the past he had been a botany photographer and a canoe trip leader. Up to five weeks before his death he was generously still caring for his mother Blanche Slater.
Due to the Provincial COVID-19 restrictions, a private family funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 10th at 3:30 PM. Interment Birr United Cemetery, where Tom will be surrounded by nature. Arrangements entrusted to Haskett Funeral Home, Lucan (519-227-4211).
Though the service is private, the family invites you to join with them from the comfort of your home. Stream the service by visiting www.facebook.com/haskettfh

Hi Fred,
I certainly think of Tom with a fondness for his gentle intelligence, quiet sense of humour, and his enjoyment of being in nature…he seemed to be a well informed, well read, thinking person, and clearly someone with a good heart.
We are sorry to hear of his passing, and our thoughts are with you.
