At Alexandra, Marine and General Hospital, Goderich, on Friday, Aug 10, 2012, Florence Mary (Luther) Slade, of Bayfield, formerly of Hensall, passed away peacefully in her 77th year following a prolonged illness. Beloved wife of Arthur Slade. Dear mother and mother-in-law of Cindy (Sid) and Jeff Reaburn of Hensall, Glenn Slade and Gia King Verellen of Tillsonburg, and Jacqui Slade of Exeter. Loving grandmother of Jamie and Jeff Weir of Waterloo, Ben Reaburn and Camille Salter of Toronto, Mandi Slade and Martin Cornelissen of Strathroy, and Tylar Slade and Jenn Rozman of London. Great-grandmother of Lexie Weir. Dear sister and sister-in-law of John and Elaine Luther, Eric and Shirley Luther, and Betty Luther. Predeceased by her parents John and Hazel Luther and brother Bill. As per Florence’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service and her body has been bequeathed to the Department of Anatomy of the University of Western Ontario.
A memorial service for family and close friends will be held at Bayfield United Church on Friday, September 22, 2012 at 2 p.m. Rev Charles Love officiating.
Donations may be made to the Canadian Liver Foundation or a charity of one’s choice
