Leslie George David Seiler, born in Monkton, Ontario on June 10, 1933, passed away peacefully at Jessica’s House, Exeter on Tuesday, July 25, 2023.
Survived by his loving wife Sonja and his daughter Linda Seiler, her husband William Greenley, and step-children Terri Roberts (James) and Steven McLeish (the late Tracey), nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Doris Belland, Marion Cherny, Mary Gaffney, Jack Berg (Storme). Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his son Robert, parents Emmanuel and Ethel (Davidson) Seiler, parents-in-law Harald and Lilian Berg, sisters, Georgina Thomson, Florella Smith, Audrey Whitehead, and Ruby Seiler, brothers-in-law Tommy Thomson, Cecil Smith, Robert Whitehead, John Belland, Al Cherny, Jack Gaffney, and Gary Freeman and sister-in-law Connie Freeman.
Les was a certified butter maker and successful businessman. He founded the Seaforth Creamery and patented Elm Grove dairy spread. He was also the owner/operator of numerous hotel and bar establishments, arcade businesses, and for many years, was involved in used car, travel trailer, renovated Class C motor home, and surplus sales. He and Sonja enjoyed travelling and boating, spending many winters in Florida. He was an avid Toronto Blue Jays fan and loved a good game of euchre with his friends and family.
In keeping with Les’ wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 456 Main Street South, EXETER on Thursday, August 31st from 5 – 8 PM.
Donations in Les’ memory may be made to Jessica’s House, or the Canadian Cancer Society.

Our condolences to Sonja and all of the family. Our thoughts are with you all through this difficult time. Les lived a full life and knew so many people and had been so many places and filled his “bucket list” for sure. There wasn’t too many things that he did not accomplish and to live to be 90, wonderful….Hold on to your memories, we know there are lots of them, to get you all through this sad time in your lives. Leon and I have lots of memories and are looking forward to the Celebration of Life to share some of those memories with family and friends.

Many good times to remember over a lot of years – flying in a very small plane from Fort Lauderdale airport (never did that again) to a wonderful celebration when you and Les became engaged, we could go on and on! We just want you to know that we are thinking about you and Linda.

I remember Les as an important member of Seaforth’s business community. I am sorry to hear of his passing.
Les you will be missed big time in many ways especially by Sonja. We had some great times here and welcoming us into your home in Florida and you would come down and visit us in Cape Coral. One night we had a few too many and poor Lester fell out of bed poor guy but we still had lots of fun Les you sure will be missed from the parties back at Leon’s bush parties will meet again one day in Heaven you can count on that my friend so sorry we didn’t get up to see you every summer I end up in the hospital for one thing or another May God be with you in your journey RIP Sir
