Passed away peacefully at Stratford General Hospital on Monday, May 6, 2024 at the age of 80. Beloved husband of Ute (Scherbarth) Schroeder for 52 years. Cherished father of Juergen and Patricia of British Columbia, Andrea and Kirk of Cambridge, ON, and Jennifer and Stephen of Seaforth, ON. Adored grandfather of Roz, Charmaine, Natalijia, Cheyenne; Kevin, Blake, Erika; Alexander, Cian, Katharina, Elizabeth and great-grandfather of Otto, Octavia, Ora, and Ripley. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Hannelora, Gisbert, Uwe, and Annalisa. Fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, extended family in Germany, and his aunt and uncle in-law Viktor and Angelika Rautenberg. Predeceased by his siblings and in-law’s Alois, Bernahd, and Barbara, his parents Alois and Katharina (Schmitz) Schroeder and his parents-in-law Martin and Hildegard (Rautenberg) Scherbarth.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Please check back for service details. Private family interment at Avondale Cemetery.
