SANGSTER-PLUNKETT: Marion (McLeod) of Exeter

April 9, 2021 By Haskett Funeral Home 73 Condolences

SANGSTER-PLUNKETT: Marion (McLeod) of Exeter

Passed peacefully at Blue Water Rest Home, Zurich on April 9, 2021 at the age of 87. Loving mother of Linda and Jerry Traquair, Bonnie and Larry Gould, Kathy and Jim Stephenson, and Jeff and Marlene Sangster. Adored GP to Ange, Scott (Shelly), Lori (Jimmy), Janet (Doug), Erin (Jamie), Craig, Ann (Mike), Mike (Kim), Ashley, Josh (Carlie), and Brenden (Kayla). Great grandma to Madi, Brody, Alex, Sam, Logan, Brooklyn, Taya, Emily, Eva, Ryan, Nolan, Reegan, Taitum, Hylinn, Darrah, Nick, Danny, Parker, Sawyer, Erik, and James. Beloved sister of Grace Gilfillan, Rick Elliott, Bob and Donna Lavery, and Dianne and Wayne More. Fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Also remembered by Don Plunkett and his family. Predeceased by her parents Roy and Robina McLeod, siblings Pearl and Roy Kirk, George and Agnes McLeod, Betty Lang, Bill Gilfillan, and Barb Elliott. Also predeceased by the father of her children John Sangster.

Marion was born in Saskatchewan and moved to Ontario with her family during the “dirty thirties”. She prided herself on her strong work ethic and her family. She spent many years working in Exeter at Hatter’s Dry Goods, F.A. May and Son and Wuerth Shoes. She loved sports and could always be found watching her beloved Toronto Maple Leafs or Blue Jays. She loved nature and could often be found feeding the blue jays and squirrels. Anyone who visited would be told about the newest squirrel arrivals and the names she had given them. As Marion’s health declined, she moved to Blue Water Nursing Home and the residence and staff became her extended family.

A private family funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 11th at 3 PM at Haskett Funeral Home, Exeter. Though the service is private, the family invites you to join with them from the comfort of your home. Stream the service live or at your convenience by visiting www.facebook.com/haskettfh. Private interment at Exeter Cemetery.

In memory of Marion donations to Blue Water Rest Home or charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

Private registration for invited guests: https://www.haskettfh.com/register/
