On Sunday, September 20, 2015, Theresa Ryan passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at the age of 89. Beloved wife of the late Michael Ryan Sr. (2000). Cherished mother of Michael Jr. (1994), Maurice and Terri of Galway, Ireland; Florence and Rudy Heeman of Thorndale; Mary and John Allen of Exeter; Mark and Joan of Mount Carmel; and Lenard, with whom she lived in Mount Carmel. Dear grandmother of Teresa Mary-Frances, John, Patrick, Claire; Will and Genevieve, Tom, Katie and Matt, Bridget; Amanda Theresa (2015) and Jason, Tony and Megan; Leanne, Shannon, Shawn, and Dean; and proud great-grandmother of Hayley and Emma Allen. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Sister Margaret Ryan of Regina SK, and Therse McCarthy of Etobicoke. Predeceased by her siblings Mary (Andy) Foster, Leonard (Nancy) McCarthy, Raymond McCarthy, and Tom McCarthy, and her husband Michael’s family, Tom (Mary) Ryan, Sister Mary Ryan, and Elizabeth (Gerard) McCarthy.
She was a caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and was dearly loved for her humour and wit. Her family will miss visits with her, weeknight chats, and reminders of “don’t be bold” if they got cheeky. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 69219 Bronson Line, South Huron, on Friday, September 25th at 11 AM with Father Len Desjardins presiding. Interment Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Restoration Fund, or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

My son found this on the internet so I just received the news today. Condolences from Hugh Ryan Sr. and all of the cousins in the states. Theresa’s husband Michael is my first cousin and our fathers are brothers. I have not travelled to Canada in quite some time. I am 92 now and don’t travel much. Theresa was a beautiful woman with a caring soul and she will be missed very much. We enjoyed our visits over the years, especially July 1 Canada Day celebrations.
