Roy Sherwood Hunter

Passed away at South Huron Hospital, Exeter on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 of Blue Water Rest Home and formerly of Exeter at the age of 96. Roywas the last of his generation of the Hunter family.  He was born in 1915 to Etha Caves and Sherwood Hunter and grew up on the home farm.  Beloved husband of the late Anita (Brintnell) Hunter (2010).  Dear father and father-in-law of Sandra Hunter of Lucan, David and Ruth of Calgary and Michael and Deb of Exeter. Dear grandfather of Michelle and her fiancé Simon, Molly, Andrea and Dana.  Also remembered by many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by his sisters Gerta, Lula and Mary and his brother Glen.

Friends may call at the Haskett Funeral Home, 370 William Street, (1 street west of Main), Exeter on Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM where the funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 25th at 11 AM with Bob Heywood officiating.  Interment Exeter Cemetery.

On Friday evening, in the funeral home, there will be an Oddfellows Service at 6:30 PM and a Legion Service at 6:45 PM.

Donations to Blue Water Rest Home or the South Huron Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

Memorial Tree

Each year we hold a tree dedication ceremony at Morrison Dam in Exeter. We purchase a tree to be planted in memory of the lives lost from the previous year.

Our Service Coverage Area

Service AreaWe are always willing to go where called upon but this image shows a visual of the communities that our included in our initial transportation fee. We offer a 40km radius from any of our 5 locations (Arva (London), Exeter, Lucan, Seaforth, and Zurich). Any mileage beyond the included 40km will be charged a rate of $2.50/km (one way travel only).

Potential Additional Transportation Fees

$150 - If transport requires more than one person, additional fee charged per person required
$150 - If transport occurs outside Mon-Fri, 9-5 business hours
