I think I worked for her everywhere, including babysitting the grandchildren. She taught me how to work hard, but have fun while you’re at it. So many great memories. I use to call her a few times at the Rest Home and talk forever. Jennie always told me. Hey!!! I still Owe You Money… For the jobs you did for me. I’m like I’m alright. Your fine Jennie. You had homecooked meals for lunch in the cafeteria at the highschool. You could smell the fresh hot food and fresh baked cookies all throughout the hallways of the highschool. Always lots of smiles and candies in the cafeteria. Elmer, Missy, The Farm, Her Family. South Huron District High School Family Cafeteria. (Bill). Was the first things Jennie always talked about. C ROWE GO. I Think her license plate was C ROW GO. Jennie was amazing caring loving lady. Jennie Always put everyone before herself or anyone else. I’m very proud to have known Jennie and worked for her and known her family. Jennie would help any students in need. Jennie loved and had great sense of humor, Jennie could talk to for days. Elmer & Jennie helped me bring home a brand new tv for my parents from Sears one day from school. My mom yelled at me. What are you doing home so early and how. I’m like I’m dropping off something, by. Gotta go with Jennie. I worked a few different weddings Jennie catered too as well. I remember a time when Jennie and I was in Exeter at a local Restaurant. After her retirement. She said. She wanted her Back facing the people. Because She knew everyone. And wanted her own time and space. After her retirement I would still help around Jennie’s house. Many trips Jennie and I had going to Costco. Citizen Of The Year Award was given to Jennie Rowe from MPP Lisa Thompson 2016. My condolences to all family and friends of Jennie Rowe’s.

Aunt Geneva was like a second Mother to Me and was a Shining Star for Our family. She was Moms “other sister” and closest confidant/friend, giving Mom unwavering support in the hardest of times. Her Love was openly shared with anyone who walked into Her life and it was very apparent that Love touched all who knew Her. I will always hold in My heart, the words of encouragement and Love She gave freely to Me on many occasions. In the simplest ways She spread Her Love, caring and understanding to all.
My memories of “the farm” are burned deep in my heart and soul because of Her smile, touch and great times She made possible.

I have to also throw in one of the stories She told Us after the funniest thing I’ve ever heard..
Driving home from somewhere, she turned onto the road to “the farm” and the kids were, as usual, “being kids” and when they got home Aunt Geneva was gettting the kids and and one was missing and she immediately panicked and asked where he was, the other kids said he fell out down the road and she rushed back down the road and found him in the ditch, unharmed …😳😳😁😁😁…..I think it was Bob,but it’s been a long time..

To all of the Rowe family: I had the pleasure of working along with Jennie ( I always considered her a member of the staff ) at South Huron DHS for 35 years. She was valued far beyond her skills in the cafeteria and she will be fondly remembered by generations of students, most notably I would say for her kindness and her compassion. I am one of the hundreds (thousands?) of people who was on the receiving end of Jennie’s magic. How could one person make so many people feel special?

I must admit I always felt a bit uncomfortable at the start of any conversation I had with Jennie. If she were to ask me something as innocent as “How are you doing?” with her eyes looking deeply into mine, I knew there was no point in giving her anything but a truthful answer. She never stopped looking deeply into my eyes throughout our conversation. And when the conversation was over Jennie’s magic kicked in.

I will miss her very much.

It was a privilege to know Jennie, and we send our most sincere condolences to the family. She had a way to make your day “brighter” just by seeing her smile and having a short chat, before she rushed off to chat with the next person she ran into. Rest in Peace Jennie, you’ve certainly earned it.

Heartfelt condolences on your Mom’s passing. Jennie was loving, kind, and friendly to everyone she met. I gained invaluable life skills from Jennie in the cafeteria at SHDHS. Later, in the canteen at the Canner’s. Jennie was the best boss I ever had. She also became my friend, and was a second Mom to me. My parents knew Jennie and appreciated her too. Jennie, you also became important in my husband, children’s, and grandchildren’s lives. We kept in touch all our lives. Lastly was Bluewater Resthome in Zurich. You still had your wonderful, loving sense of humour. Cherish your precious memories. Keep them close to your heart. May your faith, family and friends give you peace and comfort in the coming months. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Love you Jennie, you have earned your wings, dancing with Elmer.

My condolences to each of you at this sad time. You all have many great Memories of her to treasure as I do as well. One in particular was when she would let us, the Grade 8s from Exeter Public School come to the side door of the cafeteria on Fridays to buy fries & gravy. Oh so good! Many years later she still always took time to chat whenever our paths crossed. Her personal license plate said it all…..Thinking of you all & sending hugs.
