Passed peacefully at South Huron Hospital, Exeter on July 19, 2020 at the age of 76. Beloved husband of Loretta (Noseworthy) Reid. Adored father of Barbara Reid and Graeme Chisholm, Rob and Michelle Reid, Kim and Jim Oakley, and Ken and Suzanne Reid. Adored “pop” of Natalie; Meghan and Justin; Matthew and Gregory; Isabelle and Madeleine; and great-grandfather to many grand-children. Brother and brother-in-law of Wilson and Linda Reid, Lorraine Pardy and Ralph Rice, and Doreen and Randy King. Beloved son of Olive Reid. Predeceased by his father Liewelyn Reid and granddaughter Katrina Galarnyk
Raymond was an avid fisher and hunter who loved his music and woodworking. Through out his life he worked as a firefighter in Corner Brook and enjoyed spending his winters in Arizona with Loretta. He lived his life devoted to family, friends, and good times.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Corner Brook, Newfoundland. Arrangements entrusted to Haskett Funeral Home, Exeter (519-235-1220).
Donations to Muscular Dystrophy Canada, Ronald McDonald House of Southwestern Ontario, or the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada would be appreciated by the family.

It was only last week myself and mom were talking to olive at mountain view home and she was telling us that ray had to go to Ontario. I didn’t realize that he was so sick. May it comfort you all in knowing that you have so many friends sharing in your lost. Always think back at all the beautiful memories he has given to all of you. He was one of the very best persons to have known, worked with in Labour Relations and most of all played with up at his cabin, enjoying his cooking of breakfasts and jiggs dinners. Words cannot express how heartbroken we were to hear of Ray’s unexpected passing. His and Loretta’s friendship is something we will always cherish. He was the consummate host and he literally could not do enough to make you feel welcome. Memories are a great healer and there are certainly a lot of wonderful, happy memories to help you through the difficult times ahead. He will be sadly missed.

Shocked to hear of Rays passing, only last week ALex Chaulk informed me he was having health issues.
He was a great Labour leader, worked very closely with him on the Atlantic level and Provincially. Only last year we had many discussions on forming a Retirees Association in Corner Brook. He will be missed greatly in the Labour movement. Our greatest condolences to all the Family.
