REGIER: Marie (O’Gorman) of Egmondville

October 27, 2023 By Haskett Funeral Homes 25 Condolences

REGIER: Marie (O’Gorman) of Egmondville

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mom, Marie (O’Gorman) Regier of Egmondville, Ontario on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at the age of 93.

Marie is survived by her loving and devoted daughters Karen of Egmondville and Lynn of London.  Aunt Marie will be fondly remembered by nieces and nephews Pat, Penny (Mickey), Paul (Lise), Peter, Terry, Ron, Barb, Lois (Rolly), Gayle, and Patricia (John), and sister-in-law Theresa Kelly.

We trust Marie is reunited in eternal life with her beloved husband Alvin Regier (2011), cherished son Michael Regier (2019), parents John and Delia (Le Duc) O’Gorman, and brother Leonard O’Gorman.  Marie is also predeceased by her brothers-in-law and sisters-in law Georgette O’Gorman, Dorene (Norman) Smith, and Joseph (Ella) Regier, and nephew Glenn O’Gorman.

Marie served with the Royal Canadian Air Force in Clinton, Ontario before marrying her loving husband Alvin in 1954.  She devoted most of her life to family and friends and was always there when needed.  As her health declined in later years, Marie faced each challenge with strength, determination and resilience.  She was an inspiration to all whose lives she touched.  She was blessed to have a visiting volunteer who became a dear friend and brightened her days for several years, as well as many wonderful friends and caregivers who gave her joy and comfort with a helping hand, a smile, a laugh, a hug.  In her last days, again she was blessed to have an angel of a caregiver who entered her life and started helping her to speak French once again.

We were truly blessed to have our mom in our lives for so many years.  Marie will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

In keeping with Marie’s wishes, cremation has taken place.  A private graveside service will be held at St. James Catholic Cemetery.  Family and friends will be invited to come together to celebrate Marie’s life at a later date.  Arrangements entrusted to Haskett Funeral Home, Seaforth (519-527-1390).

In honour of Marie, memorial donations to the Seaforth Legion Branch 156, The War Amps, or a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.

    Dear Karen, Lynn
Your mom, was truly like a second mom to me for all these years, I feel the pain of your loss and the challenge of moving forward without this guiding light, Marie had such strength, courage, determination and desire to live through all her health challenges. Now we must celebrate a life so well lived. She has left you both stronger women for having her in your lives, and showing such grit to get through it all.
I send my and my families sincere sympathy in the loss of this truly remarkable lady we called Marie!!
    Love today, tomorrow, always, forever
