PINDER: James ‘Jim’ of Exeter and formerly of Goderich

Peacefully with family by his side, on Friday, November 24, 2017 Jim passed away in his 84th year.  Jim lived in Exeter for over 6o years and was originally from Goderich.  Beloved husband of Elaine (Hawkins) Pinder for over 63 years.  Dear father of Ann and Bart DeVries of Exeter, Ken and Kim Pinder of Exeter, and Brenda Pinder Parsons and Randy Parsons of Barrie.  Dear grandfather of Robert (Adriane), Rebecca (Chris); Kristy (Matt), Karly (Matt), Kelsey (Mike); James ‘Jamie’, and Oriah.  Dear great-grandfather of Chloe, Hayden; and Jace.  Dear brother and brother-in-law of Grace Menarik, Ann Feagan, Ernie (Bobbie) Pinder, Marie Holmes and Barbara Hawkins.  Predeceased by parents John and Jean (Anderson) Pinder, eldest brother Gordon (Jackie) Pinder, brother-in-laws Elijah Manarik, Elwyn Feagan, Jim Hawkins, and Ken Holmes.  Fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews.  Jim was a lifetime member of the Exeter Lions Club and the Exeter Curling Club, and member of the Exeter Legion, and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. 

A Celebration of Jim’s life will be held at the R.C.L. – R.E. Pooley – Branch #167 (Exeter Legion), 316 William Street, Exeter on Sunday, December 3rd  from 1-4 PM, with Words of Remembrance held at 2:30 PM. Haskett Funeral Home, Exeter (519-235-1220) entrusted with arrangements. Cremation with private family interment Maitland Cemetery, Goderich. 

In lieu of flowers donations to the Alzheimer’s Society– Huron County, McCormick Home (Memory Lane), Stratford and District Ostomy Association, or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Memorial Tree

Each year we hold a tree dedication ceremony at Morrison Dam in Exeter. We purchase a tree to be planted in memory of the lives lost from the previous year.

Our Service Coverage Area

Service AreaWe are always willing to go where called upon but this image shows a visual of the communities that our included in our initial transportation fee. We offer a 40km radius from any of our 5 locations (Arva (London), Exeter, Lucan, Seaforth, and Zurich). Any mileage beyond the included 40km will be charged a rate of $2.50/km (one way travel only).

Potential Additional Transportation Fees

$150 - If transport requires more than one person, additional fee charged per person required
$150 - If transport occurs outside Mon-Fri, 9-5 business hours
