PEARCE: Nancy (McFarlane) of Exeter

Passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at LHSC – University Hospital on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at the age of 84. Beloved wife of the late Wayne “Canoe” Pearce (2023). Cherished mom of the late Steve “Ponch” Pearce (2012), and Andrea and Craig Alexander. Proud Nana of Luke and Samantha Alexander, the late Garrett Alexander (2020) and loving great-nana of Izzy, and Callan. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Myrna and Bernie Fishman, Janice and Bert DeGroot and Bill McFarlane and Jill Haines. Fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by her parents Melville and Florence (Laidlaw) McFarlane, brother-in-law Ernie Pearce (1997), her mother-in-law Gladys (Park) Pearce (2009).

Nancy’s warm smile will be remembered in many places. She was always up for going somewhere with her family and friends while listening to Elvis, travelling South to catch those warm rays of sunshine or playing many rounds of Bingo. She loved being social and spending time with her family was her top priority. No matter where she went, her attire was always classy and she was never without her perfect shade of pink lipstick.

A private family celebration of life will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, Exeter. Cremation with inurnment Exeter Cemetery.

Donations to the South Huron Hospital Foundation or Sleeping Children Around The World would be appreciated by the family.

Condolence from Myrna & Bernie Fishman & Familu on July 27th, 2024 3:40 PM

Nancy, Janice, Bill and I had the greatest childhood living in CHATSWORTH, Ontario until the late 50s, when our parents moved to London, Ontario. Nan, being the oldest became the big sis to us, babysitting, then as we got older, our best friend & mentor, always there for us in every way. We have so many wonderful memories which will help to sustain us now in our sadness and until we meet again, just around the corner. We know that Nan is at peace with her heavenly family. She will always be remembered with love by all who were lucky to have her in their lives. Lovingly remembered, Myrna, Bernie & Family.

So sorry for your loss. Nancy was a wonderful lady & fun to be with. I enjoyed our time together in the hospital & the conversation on the phone. I know she was not in the best health, but we all had fun teasing her when she got out her curling iron, makeup & went to work. Even though we had not seen each other in a long time we got caught up in a hurry. Enjoy all the wonderful memories they will help.

So very sorry to hear this. Your mom was a special person. We had so many laughs, Canoe & Ron were great golfing buddies & the 4 of us enjoyed a lot of special times. Am thinking of you & Craig as you will miss her beautiful smile. I’m grateful to have had her as a friend.

Dear Bill and Jill,
Our sincere condolences on Nancy’s passing. I remember fondly our
young cousin years together, whether it was in Chatsworth , Lambeth or
London. Nancy was always the fun, older role model for all of us. We enjoyed
such large family gatherings often times at Christmas and other holidays
in the year. You will miss her and so will I. Hold tight to your memories of
Nancy. A wonderful lady. She reminded me so much of Florence. Thinking
of you at this sad time.
With our love,
Patty,💕Tony,
Jim, Andrea, Sadie, Charlotte and Tessa
Paula, Brandon, Ethan and Evan
