Peacefully at Jessica’s House, Exeter on Monday, November 23, 2020 of RR 1 Woodham at the age of 70. Beloved husband of Sharon (Batten) Passmore. Dear father of Tom and Sue Passmore and Jon and Chelsey Passmore all of Exeter. Adored grandfather of Brock and Bria; and Taylor. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Darlene and Bill Hooper, Barb and Dennis Rau all of Exeter; Helen and Ken Kadey of Huron Park, Ralph and Denise Batten of Exeter, and Pauline and Darryl Preszcator of Exeter. Fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brothers Dennis (1983), Dale (2011), his parents Myrtle (Haist) Passmore-Pengelly (2011) and Almer Passmore (1968), his step-father Gordon Pengelly (2009), and his in-laws John (2016) and Ola (2008) Batten.
A private family memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 26th at 11 AM. Though the service is private, the family invites you to join with them from the comfort of your own home. So sorry to hear of Dave’s passing. He was certainly a great person. We were fishing at Five Mile Lake south of Chapleau a few years ago and unfortunately forgot to bring our tackle box! There was only one other boat on the lake and with red faces we decided to approach it and see if we could borrow a couple of hooks. To further add to our embarrassment the boater turned out to be Dave! He graciously gave us a few hooks and we all had a good laugh before resuming our fishing.

Where do we start with the memories of Dave. If it wasn’t at Bowling Green, Fishing at the French or just being around Usborne Township. My personal favourite would be when Sue and I thought we would start a tradition of taking the kids to Christmas Eve (the one and only time) and Dave and Sharon came with us. Needless to say the kids were not into it and the grin on Dave’s face was priceless.
