With her family by her side and surrounded with so much love in the comfort of Jessica’s House, Martha Dianne (Denomme ) Overholt passed away on Monday March 20, 2023 in her 85th year. Devoted wife of the late Wilfred Overholt (2011). Cherished mother & mother-in-law to Vicki and Randy Geoffrey, Steve and Deb Overholt, Patti and Steve Geoffrey, Debbie Regier and Ron, Paul and Colleen Overholt, Cathi Clausius and Pete and Steph Overholt. Forever loved by her 24 grandchildren Pam, Jason, Jeremy, Tabitha, Natalie, Ashley, Kim, Rebecca, Laura, Michael, Nick, Nathan, Chris, Curtis , Amanda, Mitch, Brett, Lauryn, Holly, Leah, Mallory, Will, Erica, Ava and a loving great grandmother to 28 great grandchildren. Pre-deceased by her father Dennis Denomme (1955) and mother Olivia (Masse) Denomme Bedard (2015). She will be dearly missed by her sister and brother- in-law Cecilia and Don Denomme. Martha will be fondly remembered by her sister and brother in-laws and nieces and nephews.
Martha lived her life caring for her family and others. She provided her children and grandchildren with all the love, support, prayers and comfort a family could ask. She taught her children to work hard and to always be grateful. She was always so humble and unselfish and her faith, family and friends were so important to her. Such a nurturing heart in everything she did whether it was cooking, baking, sewing, gardening, or caring for her home and her home or heart was not complete without a dog or cat. Her biggest joy was seeing her family together and she made that happen with hosting many family traditions.
A mother’s love is endless, and NOTHING can take that away.
In tears we watched you sinking,
We watched you fade away.
Although are hearts were breaking,
We knew you could not stay.
Martha’s family is grateful for all the compassion and tender care that she received in her 6 plus years at Blue Water Rest Home we knew mom was carefully cared for and was always treated with such dignity, respect, and kindness. The family wish to express a very special thank you to the wonderful team at Jessica’s House for all the compassion and tenderness shown to our mother and our entire family. Our wishes for mom to be with her children was greatly assisted and gave consolation and comfort to all of us.
Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral home, 49 Goshen Street North, ZURICH on Sunday afternoon from 2-4 PM. Registration is appreciated. Please click “Register Now” below, to register.
Martha’s Funeral Mass will be held at St. Boniface Catholic Church, 22 Mary Street, ZURICH on Monday, March 27th at 11 AM with Father Vince Gulikers presiding. Interment St. Boniface Cemetery, Bronson Line.

Your Legacy Will Live On!
We have met so many angels in the past two weeks then we have in a lifetime. Our journey has been long but how it ended was more than we could have asked for to be at Jessica’s House all together. Dementia is heartless disease take’s your loved one a little piece at a time, then throw Covid in which just added to more frustration , we all feel some guilt that we were not there more, but I know that Dad’s presence was with you when we were not. The nursing home became your new home and your caregivers your new family who took such good care of you and really loved you . Some special memories: Even though my Aunt Martha and Uncle Willie had seven children of their own (my Most Awesome Cousins :-) there always seemed to be room for one or two or three more in their fun-filled, yet extremely organized and well-run home. Spending a week or two in Zurich each summer was truly one of the major highlights of my year. Waking up in the morning to breakfast laid out on the table because Aunt Martha had gotten up early to make breakfast for Uncle Willy before he headed off to work, everyone working together to do the morning clean-up chores and then a whole day of fun until we gathered again for lunch or dinner. There was a whole building that was a ‘play-room’ a big garden, a backyard filled with trees and a just a sense of joy and fun. Aunt Martha could be ‘stern’ for a few seconds or so, if she needed to be but there was always a smile and a twinkle in her eye very shortly after. I don’t remember her often sitting down, she was always working although she DID have an afternoon nap, some summers. Anyone who knew her doesn’t need me to describe her but just wanted to say how blessed I have felt all of my life to be always welcomed into the home, life and celebrations of such a wonderful family led by Aunt Martha and Uncle Willie who have passed their wonderfulness on to their children, my cousins and their spouses. May you be dancing together in heaven with smiles on your faces and may you feel our love and gratitude for the great love and lives you lived and shared with us. xxoo

I’m truly sad at the passing of my dear friend .. known since my teenage years… sad for ALL of us…whose lives she touched…but content in knowing that she is now at Peace enjoying her just reward… l have yet to perfect her cooking and baking skills…eg…her .rice pudding and the dark chocolate cake made from scratch…we did enjoy a few glasses…big…glasses of wine during our parenting times together,, and non parenting times. There are no words to express what my Aunt Martha meant to me. She literally was like my “second mother”. So many of my greatest childhood memories include her and my cousins (more like siblings) as we all grew up together.
She instilled the importance of family in every one of her children, which has been carried on to this day.
She was all about her family; n her strength and devotion was unwavering.
I’ll carry her love within me forever.
