Passed away suddenly at Stratford General Hospital on March 26, 2022 of RR 4 Seaforth at the age of 88. Len was born on February 26, 1934 in London to the late Basil and Irene (Thompson) O’Rourke. Beloved husband and best friend of wife Audrey (Kemp) (Malone) O’Rourke. Proud father of daughters Vicki and Rick Craig of Caledon, Patti and Henry Hendriks of Brucefield, Gail and Barry Riehl of Holland Centre, and Anne Marie and Marty Bedard of Seaforth, sons David and Trina O’Rourke of Hensall, James O’Rourke of London, and Bob Malone and Suanne Smith of Dublin. Adored grandfather “Papa” of Breanna and Connor Craig, Brittney, Tyler (Emily) and Kylie Hendriks, Kim (Adam) Albers, Craig (Danielle) Riehl, and Kayla (Lucas) Keffer, Jared (Danielle), Kyle (Laura), Ryan O’Rourke, Scott, and Taylor Malone, Megan, and Lauren Bedard, Alysha (Tom) MacEwan, Kiera (Tyler) Mitchell, and McKenna Vere, and 9 great grandchildren. Dear brother-in-law of Dorothy Rose of Cambridge. Predeceased by son Gary Malone, sisters-in-law Donna Rose, Helen Rolph, Irene Uniac & Jean Kemp, brothers-in-law Lloyd and Roy (Mickey) Kemp, Laverne Rose, Earl Rose and Bob Uniac.
Len spent his career as a Stationary Engineer. He was a passionate farmer, both on his hobby farm and on his children’s farms. Supporting the interests of his grandchildren was very important to him.
Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 87 Goderich Street West, SEAFORTH on Tuesday evening from 5 – 8 PM. Registration for visitation is required and appreciated. Please click “Register Now” below to register.
Len’s Funeral Mass will be held at St. James Catholic Church, 22 Victoria Street, Seaforth on Wednesday, March 30th at 11 AM. Cremation to follow with interment St. James Catholic Cemetery, Seaforth in the spring. Registration is not required to attend Mass.
