Cherished mother of Yvonne (Tom) Nyenhuis of Stratford, Cara (BiII) Van Massenhoven of St. Marys and James (Kris) PhaIen of Gatineau, Quebec. DearIy remembered by her extended famiIy Janice, DaryI and CharIotte. Ioving grandmother of Kurtis, NicoIe, Rebecca, MicheaI, Alex and James. Dear sister of June, Annabelle and Bob. AIso survived by severaI nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Amos and Martha (TayIor) Rice and sibIings Iorna Mae, Phyills, ShirIey, Ike and Raymond. FamiIy wiII receive friends at the Egmondville United Church on Thursday, November 12 from 12 noon untiI the time of the memoriaI service at 2:00 pm. Pastor Stephen HiIdebrand wiII officiate. MemoriaI donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or to Egmondville United Church wouId be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. At this time of loss and grief I wish to pass on to you the words of St. Francis of Assisi from his Canticle of the Creatures. He wrote the las verse while he was preparing to meet Sister Death.
“All praise be yours, my Lord, through Sister Death, From whose embrace no mortal can escape. Woe to those who die in mortal sin! Happy those she finds doing your will! The second death can do them no harm. Praise and bless my Lord, and give him thanks And serve him with great humility.”
I truly believe that Norma has happiness and peace.

Our deepest sympathies for your loss. Norma was loved by all at Seaforth Manor and certainly part of our family here. We are so happy that Norma was able to join us for our staff dinner in September. She will be missed.
