Passed away peacefully at home on the farm, with family by her side, on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 of Lucan at the age of 86. Beloved wife of Peter Wolfgang Nippa for 61 years. Cherished mother of Heike Nippa and Ingo Roy Nippa both of Lucan. Dear sister-in-law of Rosemarie and Wolfgang Schroeter, Inge and Klaus Kulbarsch, Julia Seegelken second wife of Heiko, all of Germany. Erika was much loved and will be very missed by her nieces and nephews Ettje & Bernd, Ute, Werner & Sheila, Heiko, Antje & Jeff, Ina, Wulf, Julia & Gerd, Henning, Tina & Ralf, Torsten. Silvia, Markus, Melanie, Lars, great-nieces, great-nephews, her cousins and our dear friends who all supported us. Predeceased by her siblings Anneliese Seegelken, Gerhard Seegelken, Thea Dettmann, Werner and Marga Seegelken, Heiko and Ruth Seegelken, brothers-in-law Rolf Nippa, and Joerg Nippa.
Erika was born in South West Africa (Namibia). She went to Germany with her family when she was 5 for the medical care of her oldest brother. Her family was refused return to Africa as all ship passage was halted due to the coming second world war. They never returned to Africa. In her 20’s, she had aspirations of becoming a chef, however, it was a two-year waiting list. The first year she went to England where she worked for the family of Sir Hugh Blackett through a student exchange. The second-year she came to Canada to visit her brother, Werner. She met her husband to be on the ship Arosa Sun. landing on Pier 21.
Keeping with Erika’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to Haskett Funeral Home, Lucan (519-227-4211).

We are always willing to go where called upon but this image shows a visual of the communities that our included in our initial transportation fee. We offer a 40km radius from any of our 5 locations (Arva (London), Exeter, Lucan, Seaforth, and Zurich). Any mileage beyond the included 40km will be charged a rate of $2.50/km (one way travel only).

Thank you all for your kindness and prayers. Your condolences are very touching and we appreciate them as we read them. We were very fortunuate to have the doctors, PSWs, nurses and other support staff from VON, St. Elizabeth and University Hospital to help us through this trying time.
