Our deepest condolences to all of you on Shirley’s passing. All the wonderful times that you shared over so many years will keep her close to your hearts always.
Very sorry to learn of Shirley’s passing. I know her passing is a big loss both to her family and her community. She will be greatly missed.
Shirley was my Grade Three teacher at Exeter Public School in the 1950s. It was a joy to be in her classroom.( I would like to say it was my most memorable school year but I think that would apply to Grade Four when I got the strap.) Shirley always had nice things to say about me in my report card, though she always saw room for and encouraged improvement. I’ll never forget that beautiful spring day when she decided we in her class should all go outside and play some baseball. I can still recall how much I enjoyed being outside playing baseball while all the other kids were in their classrooms. It never happened in any other grade.
Sorry to hear of Shirley’s passing. Sincere sympathies to your family.
My sincere sympathy to you Don, Jon, Gayle a.nd Sue. I so enjoyed my early teaching. years with Shirley in the next door classroom. We both taught primary grade children . Shirley’s kindnesses were always noticed. When we chanced to meet in later years, she still had a spark and we could appreciate her friendship. She meant so much to you and those she met along the way. Know that many will remember this special lady.
Don and family, I’m sorry for your recent loss. I remember Shirley from my years, long ago now, at EPS. She was most cheerful and caring.
