Peacefully, surrounded by family after a brief illness at South Huron Hospital, Exeter. Survived by his loving wife Cecilia (Hogan) Mittelholtz, his children Dan (Jo-Ann) Mittelholtz of St. Thomas, Chris (Darla) Mittelholtz, Jeff Mittelholtz, and Ann Marie (Scott) Raeside all of London. Loving grandfather of Ayla (John), and Kevin (Courtney); Jenna; Tori, and Josh; Abby, and Zack. Beloved great-grandfather of Nyah. Dearly missed brother and brother-in-law of Norbert (Norma) Mittelholtz of Burlington, Ken (Sylvia) Mittelholtz of Zurich, and Sister Carol Mittelholtz C.S.J. of London, Jack (Mary) Hogan of Exeter, Nell McCann of Mount Carmel, Joe (Pauline) Hogan of Exeter, Rita Hogan (Don Smallwood) of Grand Bend, and Marg (Jim) Williamson of London and special cousin Mary Hagan of London. Predeceased by Dolores (Paul) Benanti, Florence Hilburn, Patricia Mittelholtz, and Brother Bob Mittelholtz S.J.. Ed was born in Zurich on October 19, 1932, son of the late Theodore and Elenora (Smith) Mittelholtz. He was a member of Precious Blood Church, Exeter. He owned a construction company in Exeter, loved music and played the saxophone for many bands, including The Syncopators, Desjardine’s Orchestra, Woody and the Main St. Jug Band, and Bodacious.
Visitation will be held at the Haskett Funeral Home, 370 William Street, EXETER on Thursday from 4-7 PM. Prayers will be said in the funeral home at 6:45 PM. Funeral Mass will be held at Precious Blood Catholic Church, 200 Sanders Street West, Exeter on Friday, November 2nd at 11 AM with Father Len Desjardins presiding. Interment Exeter Cemetery.
For those who wish, donations to Precious Blood Parish Building Fund, or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

Heaven has gained a talented angel – the choir is more melodic – the clouds are well constructed. I remember listening to him, as I know you did, on many occasions. Danced many times to that sax music! As you grieve and miss your loved one, hold on to family, friends and faith for support. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I was so sorry to hear of Ed’s passing just today as I came up to Precious Blood for noon First Friday mass. What a blessing for his funeral to be on the Feast of Holy Souls.
