MINOGUE: Marion Louise (Roberts) of Kitchener formerly of Sarnia

November 11, 2024 By Haskett Funeral Home 8 Condolences

MINOGUE: Marion Louise (Roberts) of Kitchener formerly of Sarnia

Passed away at Grand River Hospital, Kitchener on Sunday, November 10, 2024 at the age of 95. Beloved wife of the late Willard Stanford Minogue.  Cherished mother of Bernie Minogue and Cheryl Pocrnic, Lorna and Tim Frederick, Allan and Shirley Caron, and Keith and Delores Caron. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Gloria and Gary Brabaw, and Beverly Thompson. Fondly remembered by her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and the extended Minogue and Roberts families. Predeceased by her step-son Eldon Minogue, brothers, sister, and in-laws, Charles and Bessie Roberts, Jean and Gord McKnight, Kenneth Roberts, Gary Roberts, and Eldon Roberts, and her parents Clayton and Eula (Fuller) Roberts.

Marion’s life was strongly rooted in Christianity and she gave her heart and soul in service to the Lord. She assisted several missions to help spread the word of God, and collected food and clothing to help Inuit, Haitian and other people worldwide. Her love of family, friends and community was equally strong. She spent many years working on the family farm and in retirement she volunteered at the Kitchener Farmers Market assisting vendors and at the welcome desk handing out balloons, colouring books and treats to the kids. Marion’s greatest love and the brightest lights in her life were her children. Time spent with Lorna and Bernie was truly treasured by her.

Her door was always open and Marion was always ready to share a talk, laughter, sweet treats or a cup of tea with family and friends. Her love and caring nature will live on in the hearts of all those who were blessed to have known her.

Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Homes, 223 Main Street, Lucan on Thursday, November 14th from 11:30 – 12:30 PM.

Following the visitation a graveside service will be held at St. John’s Cemetery, Arva at 1 PM

In lieu of flowers donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation in Marion’s memory would be appreciated by the family.

Bernie, Lorna and family, my sincerest condolences on the loss of Aunt Marion. So many wonderful memories spending summer holidays as as young teenager at your place in Bryanston. I quickly learned how to use a paint brush when Aunt Marion had Bernie and I paint the garage one summer. Remember ripping the Honda CT-70 around the track that was the entire yard and remember running straight into the back fence with that mini bike. Staying there in the summertime, Bernie and I hiding along the highway with rotten tomatoes in hand waiting for transports flying past after dark haha. So excited waiting for Uncle Bill to come and pick me up from mom and dad’s place in London after he was done his shift at Kelloggs with his shiny new Orange 340 dodge demon, such a thrill to ride in that car. Aunt Marion made the best Strawberry Rhubarb jam and to this very day I can still taste it. Her cooking was always so good. She treated me like one of her own and I’m very grateful for the loved she gave me. It was through Aunt Marion I got my first real job at 14 shoveling chicken manure 6 days per week for $40/week for the Oneil family. I was never a perfect child and certainly have a few regrets and i sincerely apologize for them but as with this life God has granted us, we learn from our mistakes. RIP Aunt Marion and Thank you to the Minogue family for the genuine fun and the many life lessons that I hold near and dear to my heart.

Dearest Lorna, I send you my deepest sympathy on the loss of your beloved mom.
There is not a time that I don’t drive by your childhood home in Bryanston and remember your mother’s warmth and caring. I see her smiling face before me still. All my sympathy and love to you and Bernie too.

    To the Minogue Family,
Wayne and I would like to extend our deepest sympathy on the loss of Marion. She was a loving compassionate Christian lady to all who were blessed to have known her. She will be remembered for the every day family times shared with her daughter Lorna and son- in-law Tim.
May Lorna be comforted by the excellent care she provided her mother into her Golden years allowing Marion to live her fiercely independent lifestyle as happily as possible.
Our prayers to all. We will enjoy a cup of tea in her honour.
With Love, Wayne, Pat and Lee.
