Peacefully on Friday, August 16, 2019 of Exeter and formerly of RR1 Hay in her 91st year. Beloved wife of the late Clayton Merner (2009). Dear mother of Alan and Leanna Merner of Damascus, Jane and Don Newman of St. Marys and Chris Merner of Dashwood. Dear grandmother of the late Tim (2019) and Craig Merner of Damascus. Dear sister-in-law of Maxine Kleber, Eldonna Rowswell, and George Merner all of London.
Visitation will be held at the Haskett Funeral Home, 370 William Street, Exeter on Thursday from 5-8 PM where the funeral service will be held on Friday, August 23rd at 11 AM. Interment Exeter Cemetery.
Donations to the South Huron Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

sorry to hear the sad news of Graces passing she was a super lady. my sister and i spent a lot of time at the home on 83 hwy when we were growing up. rest in peace.
Grace was a very kind neighbour. Her smiling presence and telephone calls are really missed. My deepest sympathy to each one of her family members. You were much loved and very precious to her.

Dear Alan & Leanna, Jane & Don, Chris & Families . . .
It is with saddened hearts that we are sending our sincerest sympathy to all of you on the loss of your dear and caring Mother and Grandmother, Grace. She was a very loving, kind, sincere, hard-working, proud, remarkable lady who along with your Dad, Clayton raised a wonderful family. It is always heartbreaking to see our once lively parents age and eventually leave this world behind – but know your parents are now reunited together again in Heaven forever. May the loving memories you have of your parents live on – in your hearts forever and help you through the difficult days ahead. “Death leaves a heartache no one can heal; Love leaves a memory no one can steal.” You have so many family, friends, neighbours & community grieving along side you and supporting all of you with their thoughts & prayers.
May God keep you in his loving arms, as you grieve and celebrate Grace’s life. She is now resting in the arms of the angels and may her journey to the next life be as great as she was on earth.

So sorry to read about the passing of your mother. She was so kind to our Aunt Edie and you two visited her so often while Aunt Edie was alive. We appreciated the time she took to reminisce with Aunt Edie and Jane you were good to visit Aunt Edie as well. Your Mom was a great, kind lady and will be missed.

Dear Jane, Don: Happened to visit the website of Haskett Funeral Homes and saw Grace’s obituary. Felt sad to read about Grace’s death and your loss. I send our deepest sympathy and embrace you with our love. Gratitude for a life well-lived. Grace was always kind, gracious and caring to us when we were serving the church in Dashwood.
