Passed away peacefully at Huron Hospice on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 of Seaforth in her 100th year. Beloved wife of the late Glen McNichol (2005). Cherished mom of Joyce and Bob Brown of Port Stanley, Nancy and Steve Szabo of Brantford, and Beth and Harold Van Doornik of Seaforth. Proud grandma of Tammy (Steve), Tracy (Kenny), Tawnya; Lisa (Dave); Sarah (Mike), Becky (Coleson), and Eric (Cassie) and great-grandma of Tyler, Isaac, Andrew, Aaron, Mack, Austin, Cooper, Wyatt, Emmett, Carter, Paige, and Theo. Dear sister of Auldeen Stacey and sister-in-law of Mary Watt. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Robert and Islay Watt, brother and sister-in-law Bob and Audrey Watt, brother Tom Watt, brother-in-law Wendell Stacey and Glen’s siblings and their spouses; Ralph and Anna McNichol, Mildred and Tom Petley, Wilma and Roy Wildfong, and Carmetta and Con Hayes.
Dorothy was a talented quilter, creating many beautiful pieces that she shared with her family. She enjoyed her time clogging with her friends, a good card game or a round of bingo. In her earlier years, she shared her talents of canning. Together she and Glen travelled south for over 25 years after retiring from the farm in McKillop Township. Dorothy was always up for day trips and going various places. Above all, she cherished her time spent with her family and always made sure to celebrate holidays and birthdays with them.
Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 87 Goderich Street West, SEAFORTH on Friday, July 12th from 12 – 1:30 PM, where Dorothy’s funeral service will be held at 2 PM. Cremation to follow with interment Brussels Cemetery.
Donations to Huron Hospice or Egmondville United Church would be appreciated by the family.

Can’t count the number games of euchre played at the old farm when the crowds gathered.
She always made everyone welcome ♥️

Deepest sympathies to you, Beth and family. There’s many memories to behold there. May she RIP.
I recall in the early ‘80s, I was a member of the McKillop Rec Committee and it sponsored a Sunday Snowmobile Poker Rally at Family Paradise. As the afternoon went on, a winter storm blew in and the roads quickly filled in. I think Ken Dalton got me as far as Glen and Dorothy’s place where I enjoyed and appreciated their hospitality until the following morning. Good memories. We send our condolences.

I don’t think Aunt Dorothy had a bad word to say about anyone. She will be remembered as being the first one up for a roadbtrip….an entrepreneur before her time and extremely independent. She was not intimated for striking off on a road before GPS was the norm. May you over the next weeks and months only fondly remember all the laughs and fun times you all shared.
Dorothy was one of the sweetest ladies I know. May she rest in peace. 100 years on the earth amazing!
Our deepest sympathy to the whole family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
