MCCULLEY: Barbara Elisabeth (Wauchope)

Our beloved mom, Barb, passed away peacefully at her home at Foxhollow Community Residence on Sunday, August 18, 2024. Barb was born on September 22, 1931 in North Bay, Ontario to D.A. “Art” and Ellen Mary “Nellie” Wauchope, and was the youngest of 3 girls. She met our dad C.W. Chuck McCulley in North Bay. They married in June of 1951 and had 3 daughters. They enjoyed traveling and continued doing so after they moved to London, Ontario in 1991. Barb is predeceased by her husband Chuck in 1999, her parents, daughter Leslie Ruttan, son-in-law Bruce Grant, sisters Grace Thompson, and Mary McCague. She is survived by her daughters Deb Grant of London, Pam Bookham (John) of Fort St. John, B.C, and son-in-law Peter Ruttan of Newmarket, her 6 grandchildren Jeff Grant, Brittany Grant (Chris Denda); Dana Pasichnyk, Micah Bookham (Serena); Jennifer Ruttan, Erin Ruttan and great-grandchildren Oliva Grant;  Raiden Denda; Justin Bookham; Marcus, Logan and Kyler Pasichnyk; Ryan, Maddie, and Declan Bookham.

A come and go gathering to celebrate Barb’s life will be held at Springs Restaurant (310 Springbank Drive, London) on Sunday, September 22nd from 2-5 PM. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be held at St. Anne’s Anglican Cemetery, Byron. Arrangements entrusted to Haskett Funeral Home, LUCAN.

The family wishes to thank the caring and compassionate staff on the 2nd floor of Foxhollow, Dr. Kirk Hamilton, and the VON (E-Shift), especially Matthew Defalco for his unfailing support and loving care towards Barb. We are blessed to have had all of you in our lives.

If desired to make a donation to honour Barb’s memory, please consider VON Canada or the Alzheimer Society of Canada.

Condolence from Terry L. on September 7th, 2024 9:39 AM

Deb, Pam and family,
So sorry to hear of the passing of your mother. A fine lady who never stopped thinking about her family. She will be deeply missed and cherished. It is not easy with the loss of your mom; because, that is the one constance in your life for so long. May you take comfort in family memories and the closeness there is between the two sisters.

Thinking of you at this time.

Terry L.
