Evaline passed away peacefully at Blue Water Rest Home, Zurich on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at the age of 97. Beloved wife of the late John Stanley Whiting (1969) and the late John McAllister (2014). Loving mother of Mel and Nancy Whiting, Barb and Lorne Turnbull, Ruth Mercer-Ross and Paul Ross, the late William Mercer (1990), Linda and Dennis Hackney, Larry and Marlena Whiting, and Faye and Dwight Kinsman and loving step-mother of Dale McAllister and the late Neil McAllister (2018) (Sue Riley). Proud grandma of 32 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Winifred Jette, and Rosalie Cann, Melba Hamilton-Cornfoot, and Norman and Barb Whiting. Predeceased by her parents Wilfrid and Muriel (Nicholson) Mack, and in-laws Earl and Ethel (Kestle) Whiting, brother and sister-in-law Bryce and Olive Mack, brothers-in-law, Leo Jette, and Lorry Cann.
Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 456 Main Street South, EXETER on Sunday afternoon from 2 – 5 PM.
Evaline’s funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Monday, May 29th at 11 AM with Rev. Paul Ross officiating. Interment Exeter Cemetery.

On October 31,1957 my family moved from London to Exeter. I clearly remember being part of a lovely family gathering that evening at the Whiting home just around the corner from our new home on Main Street.
I came to love this family, full of wonderful brothers and sisters, always a house full of love. Ev was always there, feeding us, caring for her little ones as well as the many neighbourhood children that congregated in that happy home.
Every summer Linda and I had a little house in the lower branches of a lilac bush where we spent many hours playing happily.
I remember the day that baby Faye came home. She was the tiniest bundle all wrapped in pink. Ev placed her on the sofa and we excitedly ran in circles ( this house was designed so we could run through every room- round and round) Larry was younger than Linda and I and he was so exhausted from running that he plopped down on the sofa, just missing baby Faye!
I spent 100’s of hours in this lovely home, enjoying dinners, so many sleepovers and making unforgettable childhood memories.
