With the heaviest of hearts, our sweet little baby Ray soared to her final resting place. After a lengthy battle with complications from Lupus, Rachael passed away at LHSC in London on December 27, 2019 peacefully in the arms of her family in her 25th year. Born in a storm on July 13, 1995, Rachael was the youngest daughter of Rick Mattucci (Joan Deslippe) of Kettle Point, Ontario and Karen Heather (David Husson) of London, Ontario, her 2 sisters, Erika Mattucci (Matteo Scavo) and Taylor Mattucci (Sean Connell), her best friend and sister “Cassnadra” Northover, her fur-nephews Tucker and Dodger, her grandfather Bill Heather (Karen Dickins) and her 3 special nephews Jesse, Cameron and Brady. Reunited with her paternal grandparents Tony Mattucci, Ruth Mattucci and Wanda Mattucci, her maternal grandmother Donna Heather and her uncle Karl Heather. She will be lovingly missed by her many aunts, uncles and cousins, all of her extended family and friends and all who knew her.
Rachael has always had a passion for helping others, and received her Diploma in Child and Youth work from Fanshawe College in London, Ontario in 2017. Rachael was dedicating her life to helping troubled youth and had recently started working to help the homeless of London.
The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to Dr. Susan Huang and her team, and all of the wonderful hospital staff that took such great care of Rachael.
A celebration of her life will be held at Willie’s Beach Bar, 83 Main St, Grand Bend, ON on Saturday, January 4th, from 1-4pm. Haskett Funeral Home, LUCAN entrusted with arrangements (519-227-4211).
In lieu of flowers, donations to London Cares or consider supporting Rachael’s passion to end homelessness or helping youth in need in your community would be greatly appreciated by the family.
We are always willing to go where called upon but this image shows a visual of the communities that our included in our initial transportation fee. We offer a 40km radius from any of our 5 locations (Arva (London), Exeter, Lucan, Seaforth, and Zurich). Any mileage beyond the included 40km will be charged a rate of $2.50/km (one way travel only).

As we all grew up, she always stayed in contact through messaging, leaving comments and asking how we all were doing.
I was excited to find out she had a placement at the same residential home that I had started at and knew a few of the same girls I was connected with.
It does not surprise me that she was helping the youth and homeless. Her demeanour was kind, and loving.
