Peacefully, surrounded by his wife and children at LHSC – University Hospital, London on Monday, January 9, 2017, of Lucan, at the age of 71. Beloved husband of Cathy (Schroeder) Mathers. Loved father and father-in-law of Scott Mathers and Hayley Walker of London, and Christine and Matt VanderHeide of Waterloo. Dear grandfather of Olivia, Liam, and Sam. Cherished brother and brother-in-law of Joyce Mathers of London, Bev and Adam Pasternak of Parkhill, Steve and Brenda Schroeder of Dashwood, and Connie and Chris Van Gerwen of Conestogo. Also remembered by his many nieces, nephews, and their families. Predeceased by his parents Alfred and Alice (McLeod) Mathers, sister and brother-in-law Shirley and Harry Westacott, and father-in-law Harold Schroeder. Jerry was a long-time employee at Dashwood Industries where he worked as an industrial electrician. Jerry enjoyed many hobbies, including ham radio, woodworking, and playing his guitar.
Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at the Haskett Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, Lucan with Pastor Paul Vollick officiating. Cremation with interment St. James Cemetery, Clandeboye.
Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Villages United Church, or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
We are always willing to go where called upon but this image shows a visual of the communities that our included in our initial transportation fee. We offer a 40km radius from any of our 5 locations (Arva (London), Exeter, Lucan, Seaforth, and Zurich). Any mileage beyond the included 40km will be charged a rate of $2.50/km (one way travel only).

Through Cathy at Biddulph and through your family being next door neighbours for years to Sue Anne in Clandeboye, I got to know Jerry some and always enjoyed discussing music with him. We even exchanged some vintage music albums at one of the summer yard sales.
