Mable and I send our heartfelt condolences to the family of Mrs. Coyne; a dear neighbour of the Morris family years ago. We are terribly sorry that we can not be with the family at this sad time, but our hearts and prayers are with them. I have such fond memories of our growing up on the farm with Mike and Mary and the kids (as they were affectionately known) as our closest neighbours and dear friends. That was a wonderful time in our lives when we all worked and played side by side and created a lasting bond of friendship. In fact, as a bit of trivia, I recall that my (late) brother Jack and I did the chores while Mike and Mary were on their honeymoon. In many ways it is unfortunate that our careers take us in different directions and our lives drift apart, but I can say that the memories do not. We can be sure that Mary is at peace and that is what we wish to all of her extended family. Our sympathies and regards to all; Greg and Mable Morris.

    Dear Coyne Family,

I doubt that any of you will remember me, Jack Zettel, or my two brothers, Pat and Jim and my sister Mary, but our Aunt Catherine and Uncle Tom Morris lived across the road from your family&&single&&s farm in Staffa. My mother Agnes Zettel (nee McGrath) was Catherine&&single&&s sister and their mother and my grandmother was a Devereaux.

While it is nearly 50 years ago, I can still recall walking down the lane and across the road with my aunt and mother to your farm to visit with your mother and father, and I&&single&&m sure some of you. I still remember your mother having cookies for us kids.

I also remember going to church in Dublin I think it was, and then standing out front talking to all of my Uncle and Aunt&&single&&s neighbours. But the best part was then going across the street to a little store for ice cream cones after mass.

As a child, and to this day, I treasured the time I spent on my Aunt and Uncles farm, fishing in the stream near the road, helping gather eggs, watching Uncle Tom milk the cows, eating Aunt Catherine&&single&&s tea biscuits, and spending time with Jack, Greg, Jerry and Anne.

I know that losing one&&single&&s mother, and grandmother is very painful, but while it may not seem possible today, when the hurt diminishes, you&&single&&ll all have very fond memories to cherish.

My and my family&&single&&s sympathy is with you.

    Sincerely,

    Jack Zettel
