MACNEIL: Michael Theodore “Mike” of Hensall, formerly of London and New Waterford

Peacefully at the Queensway Nursing Home, Hensall on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at the age of 86. Beloved husband of Dorothy (Fenn) MacNeil for 64 years. Proud father of Josie Mortimer (Denys), Mike MacNeil, David MacNeil, and Carol Pelletier (Murray). Cherished papa of Christopher (Krista), Angela (Dan), Tony (Alana), Matthew (Anne), and Bryan (Amanda), and great papa of Joey, Lauren, Caelan, Jordyn, Van, Dorothy-Anne, Logan and Lucas. Dear brother of Dena MacLeod (Leo). Missed by many nieces and nephews and cousins. Mike enjoyed music, was an avid harmonica player and a master of the spoons for “42 years”. He was a long-time member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Mike’s music will be missed at the many family gatherings and in the halls of Queensway.

Keeping with Mike’s wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of Mike’s life will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 370 William Street, EXETER on Thursday, September 8th at 1 PM.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or BREATHE – The Lung Association would be appreciated by the family.

My Condolences to Mike’s family, I had the pleasure to get to know Mike while he was at Queensway , I worked on Mike doing Physio. Mike had a great sense of humor and I enjoyed listening to him when he played his harmonica, and l had him play his harmonica to end the group group exercises as the residents loved it. He will be missed by all

Sad to hear of uncle Mike’s passing. I remember sitting around when I was young listening to his music and when I got older too. Mike was a good one. He will be missed. I’m glad I got to talk to him at one of the recent reunions a few years back in London.
