MACINTYRE: Glory Marion (Fenwick) of Toronto

April 5, 2024 By Haskett Funeral Homes 10 Condolences

MACINTYRE: Glory Marion (Fenwick) of Toronto

February 5, 1925-March 30, 2024

Glory, a remarkable woman, passed away peacefully with family by her side, at the age of 99 in Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital. Beloved wife of Alexander MacIntyre (1992). Loving mother of Carol and son-in-law Sam Wakeam. Born and raised on a farm located in what is now Mississauga, she later moved to the city after marrying her beloved Al. Following Al’s passing, she relocated to downtown Toronto, fulfilling her lifelong dream of living by the waterfront. The vibrant downtown atmosphere resonated with her spirit, and she embraced it wholeheartedly.

Glory was an independent, tenacious, and beautiful person. Her keen intellect and curiosity made her an interesting conversationalist, and she cherished connecting with people. She held leadership roles, serving as the charter president of the Pilot Club, Scarborough and as a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Throughout her career, she excelled as a professional executive assistant, supporting several company presidents.

Married to Al for 44 years, their love story was enduring. Al’s untimely departure left an indelible mark on Glory’s heart, and she spoke of their wonderful life together with unwavering fondness. Early in their marriage, she saved diligently and purchased a property lot on Lake Dalrymple. Together, they built a cozy cottage, a haven where family and friends gathered for countless joyful days.

Glory’s pride and joy was her daughter, Carol. Their close bond brought immense comfort, and Carol’s unwavering support sustained Glory through life’s challenges. Even when she lost her sight in her later years, Glory’s resilience shone brightly.

She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and love that her family and numerous friends will remember her for.  As Glory embarks on her final journey, reunited with Al, her spirit remains in our hearts. Rest in peace Mom.

Proud Gramma of Jason (Helen), Michael, Jamie (Cheryl), Steven (Caitlin). Adored Great-Gramma of Carson, Riley, Owen, Kaitlyn, Spencer, and Dylan. Fondly remembered by Jennifer, and Lindsay and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Thomas and Bertha Fenwick, brother William (Frances) Fenwick and Alexander’s siblings and their spouses; Robert (Doris) MacIntyre, Margaret (William) Orser, George (Rachel) MacIntyre.

Keeping with Glory’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Our family would like you to join us for her Celebration of Life on Friday April 19th from 2:00 to 4:00pm at St. John’s Dixie Cemetery and Crematorium Reception Hall, 737 Dundas Street East, Mississauga, Ontario.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made to West Neighbourhood House, CNIB or MS Society.

Glory was a noble lady of distinction and dignity. As fellow residents at Queens Harbour since 1999, we formed a camaraderie that lasted through the years. We were always ready and available to assist her at home when her eyesight began to fail. We will miss her but never forget her legacy. John & Teresa Needham
