Condolence from Faye Skinner on December 20th, 2011 11:56 AM

My thoughts of Mabel go back to when she first came to our Dining for seniors program. First she was a valued member of my Advisory Committee and then became a client. She always was so gentle and gracious. Mabel always brought special treats to the staff in the office here on John Street. She would invite me over to the Villa for lunch and we would remember all the fun we used to have at meetings and dinners. Mabel was a gem to be around. I read her history book and all her stories of her teaching experiences. Mabel also made the best cherry cheesecake and I use her recipe all the time to impress people because I have a lack of cooking skills. Miss you Mabel and I know that you are in a better place where there is no suffering or pain.

I feel so so sad for you at this time because I know how hard it is to lose a parent. I have read all the messages about your Mom and I have learned through the stories of others what a wonderful person she was. I didn’t know she was a teacher, too. I’m sure you have lots more stories to share.
