Suddenly at his home following a wonderful Easter family gathering on Sunday, April 21, 2019 of Lucan formerly McGillivray Township at the age of 88. Beloved husband of Catherine “Irene” (Thom) Lynn for 55 years. Dear father of Catherine and Jim Hardie and Cheryl and John Cook all of Granton, Bonnie and Richard Vandenberk of Port Franks, and Gerry and Vicki Lynn of Grand Bend. Loving grandfather of Matthew and Laura, Michael and Marissa, Emily and Chris; Brad, Jenna, Steven; Amanda, Philip, Luke and Mikalea; Jeremy, Joe, Samuel, Reanna; and step-grandfather of Jenene and Keith, and Blair and Jennifer. Great-grandfather of River and soon to be expected great-granddaughter and step-great-grandfather of Leyton, Taylor, and Owen. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Ralph and Gwen Lynn of McGillivray Township, Pauline and Ron Haynes of London, Dorothy and Don Lankin of Lucan, June and Hubert Arts of London, Sandy and Margaret Thom and Frank and Pat Thom all of Toronto and Joan Cunningham of London. Gerald will be remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his son-in-law Jim Lovie (2010), sisters Norene Brock, Clarice Hern and brothers-in-law Thomas Brock, Harry Hern, Leon Rousseau and sister-in-law Ivy Rousseau and his best friend and cousin Joseph Cunningham.
Gerald believed in the 3 “F’s”: Family, Farming and Florida.
Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, LUCAN on Tuesday evening from 4-7 PM. The funeral service will be held at Community Bible Church, 24294 Adelaide Street North, Lucan (at Highway 7) on Wednesday, April 24th at 11 AM with Pastor Byron Hand and Rev. Darrell Shaule officiating. Interment St. James Cemetery, Clandeboye.
For those who wish, donations to the Children Health Foundation – London, Canadian Cancer Society or Jessica’s House would be appreciated by the family.
We are always willing to go where called upon but this image shows a visual of the communities that our included in our initial transportation fee. We offer a 40km radius from any of our 5 locations (Arva (London), Exeter, Lucan, Seaforth, and Zurich). Any mileage beyond the included 40km will be charged a rate of $2.50/km (one way travel only).
