Your Mom was a kind soul and always had a smile. Living in the neighborhood I remember stopping in at the house, many times with Joan. She walked around Lucan for many, many of her years, and always looked like she was on a mission. Hard to keep up to her. She had a thirst for life, which was evident in the number of years she stayed with all of us. She will be remembered and missed by many. Condolences to you all. Her memories will be with you forever.

Jane, Joan and Bill and families
Our condolences on Mrs Lockyer’s passing. She was always smiling, always in the garden and always positive. We have many memories of living across the road from your parents. As a kid you always knew if there was ever a problem you could go to Ms Lockyer if Mom and Dad were not home. Here’s to a life well lived and to her positive attitude and her genuine smile. Many memories of her fast pace walk uptown, her being one of the first to shovel the snow before we could clear it for her and having the biggest and best garden in the neighborhood. So much time spent on the snow hill by the maple tree out front, raking and piling the leaves from the same big maple and the lilacs in the spring. Your mom never once complained about us neighbourhood kids being on her property when she had every right to want to kick our butts. She let us be kids. As a parent myself, I made sure I took my kids every year to Ms Lockyer’s place for Halloween and every year she got a kick out of the costumes. So positive and kind.
Thinking of you all and remembering your Mom as a wonderful lady!

Dear Jane and all Bernice’s family,

Your Mom always had a smile on her face and was always on the move. I remember her best singing in the Lucan United Church choir with my Dad, Stuart McLellan among many others. I am sure she must have outlived most of those choir members and is now re-united and singing again in the heavenly Choir! May all your happy memories of her bring you peace as well as many smiles reminding you all of your Mother’s love for her family!

Joan, Jane, Bill and families,
My condolences to all of you.
I have fond memories of living next door to your parents. Your mom would always invite me in for cookies and to visit the cat. She never minded when I’d use the large swing in the back yard or visiting her while she was busy gardening. I ran into your mom a few years at the grocery store and I was so happy to see her. She still had the huge smile a big laugh. Your family was a big part of my childhood and I will always cherish that.
