At home, with family by his side, after a brave fight, on Sunday, October 16, 2016 of Exeter at the age of 64. Cherished husband of Glenda (Stenhouse) Lewis for 40 years. Proud father of Lyndsay Lewis and Shawn French of Ottawa, and Brandon Lewis and Megan Blais of Sudbury. Dear son of Dorothy Lewis of St. Catharines. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Jacky and Don McGregor, Ken and Linda Stenhouse, Bev and Doug Burns, Kim and Bob Jaggard, Terry and Mike Fennema, Bill and Carol Stenhouse, Brenda and Darrin Shaw, Chris and Debby Lewis, Tim Lewis, and Michelle Lewis and Bruce Dickson. Predeceased by an infant daughter, his father George Lewis, and mother and father-in-law Marlene and Ken Stenhouse.
Friends may call for a casual-dress visitation (no suits please) at the Haskett Funeral Home, 370 William Street, Exeter (1 street west of Main) on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM, where a memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 20th at 11 AM. Cremation has taken place.
If you are able, David’s family asks that you consider donating blood in his memory, and if you are unable to donate blood, donations to South Huron Hospital Foundation – Jessica’s House would be appreciated.

We are truly sorry to hear this sad news. We could tell Dave was such a special person from the time we got to spend with him at Thanksgiving in previous years at Mont Ste. Marie . We were blessed to have met him and to have him as family thanks to Lyndsay and Shawn. We will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers.

Stunned to read of Dave’s passing.. That man always had a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye.
it will be the little things you remember, the quiet moments, the smiles, the laughter. And although it may seem hard right now, it will be the memories of these little things that help push away the pain and bring the smiles back again.
