Jennifer Ann Lamb (nee Chadwick) passed away peacefully on her own terms on August 15th after a two year battle with ovarian cancer, surrounded by loved ones in the farmhouse that she had turned into a beautiful home over the past 8 years.
Jenny was born to BJ Chadwick and the late Bruce Chadwick in Burlington, Ontario. Jenny graduated from Nelson High School in 1981 and grew up racing sailboats with her family on Burlington Bay and skiing at the Caledon Ski Club.
In 1983, Jenny met her best friend, business partner, running companion, and love of her life, Bruce Lamb, while pursuing her HBA at the Ivey Business School. Jenny and Bruce graduated from Ivey in 1985 and married in 1987. The couple later moved to Smithville, Ontario, where they raised their two daughters, Karen and Tori. In 2006, they relocated to Lucan, Ontario before moving to their 50-acre farm near London, Ontario in 2015.
Jenny was an accomplished long distance runner, having completed countless half marathons and ultra-relay races, as well as four marathons including two Boston Marathons. In addition to running, Jenny was also a flying trapeze enthusiast, performing gravity-defying catches at Club Med circus shows.
In addition to being forever missed by her husband, Bruce, and mother, BJ, Jenny will also be missed by her children, Karen Stanley (Derek Stanley) and Tori Lamb (Josh Melchers); her granddaughters, Vanessa Stanley and Jordan Melchers; her brother, Cam Chadwick (Bonnie Baker); her in-laws, Gail Lamb, Ethyle Lamb, Donna Lamb, and Paul Lamb (Jovy Estrada); and her nieces and nephews, Brit Larkin (Dave Larkin), Kate Veinot, Britt Peterson, and Graeme Chadwick.
A celebration of Jenny’s life will be held on Sunday, August 27th in the Atrium of the International & Graduate Affairs Building at Western University with drop-ins 2PM – 4PM. Words of remembrance will be shared at 3PM. In honour of Jenny, please dress in cocktail attire with fun/cute shoes. Parking (see map) will be available at the Fowler Clinic (for attendees with mobility issues), Alumni/Thompson, and Talbot lots. There will also be a 2.5KM run in celebration of Jenny’s love of hills starting at the Stone Cottage in Springbank Park on Friday August 25th leaving at 7PM sharp, followed by refreshments.
