Peacefully, with her family by her side at the Seaforth Community Hospital, Petronella “Nellie” Jansen passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2024 at the age of 94. Beloved wife of the late John Jansen (2008). Dear mother of Rudy (Mary) Jansen of Exeter, Wilma Jansen of Waterloo, Bob (Sandra) Jansen, Mary-Lou (Allan) Murray and Steve (Val) Jansen, all of Seaforth. Proud grandmother of Trish (Dan) McLaughlin and Nic (Julie) Jansen; Michael (Emilie) Ward, Matthew (Kristine) Ward; Derek Jansen, Mark Jansen, Rachel (Kyle) Clemintino, Sadie (Patrick) Allamby; Andrea (Paul) Reynen, Alex (Angela) Murray, Devin (Rebecca) Murray, Laura Murray, Robert Murray and Sarah Murray; Travis (Justine Reid) Jansen, Hannah Jansen, Colin (Marlese Coombs) Jansen and Ellen Jansen. Also survived by nine great-grandchildren. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Dear sister of Gerrit Jakobs (Toos) and sister-in-law of Annie Jakobs, Jan Gerrits, Anton (Riet) Jansen, and Mien Jansen all of The Netherlands. Predeceased by sons Michael (1965) and John (1976), daughter Diane (1981), 2 brothers, 2 sisters, and twelve of John’s siblings all of The Netherlands.
Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 87 Goderich Street West, SEAFORTH on Wednesday, June 26th from 5 – 8 PM. Parish prayers will be said at 8 PM in the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. James Catholic Church, 22 Victoria Street, SEAFORTH on Thursday, June 27th at 11 AM with Father Ronnie Tagnines and Deacon Dan McPhee Presiding.
