  2. Workplace Safety & Prevention Services

    February 13, 2012 at 7:08 AM

We were deeply saddened to learn of Jim’s passing. He has been an active volunteer with Workplace Safety & Prevention Services (WSPS) and formerly with Farm Safety Association (FSA) for over 15 years. In addition to being a member of FSA’s Board of Directors for nine years, Jim was a dedicated volunteer who participated on WSPS’s Agriculture Advisory Committee and Rural Volunteer Advisory Groups, in addition to working in his community to help others understand the importance of health and safety on the farm.

His passion for creating a culture of health and safety in the agriculture industry was evident to all of those who had the privilege of working with him. He was a leader who helped to guide the work of WSPS and he left a legacy that we will build the future upon.

Elizabeth Mills, President & CEO, WSPS.

I always admired Jim’s passion and dedication in his work at both local and provincial levels to make Ontario farming safer. Jim’s candour and enthusiasm will be greatly missed.

    Dean Anderson, Regional Director, WSPS.

    Marj and Family:
We were very sorry to read of Jim’s passing. Milt enjoyed working with Jim in Hay Township many years ago. As well we always had a great time at the fish frys at your cottage and good chats whenever we met. Obviously he was a super ‘family man’ as one can see by the many photos of him involved in family life. He will be greatly missed by family, friends and acquaintances. “Memories are keepsakes, treasure them forever”. Thinking of you today and keeping all in our prayers. Our apologies for not being available to attend the funeral.

Our condolences to Marj and the family from your friends.
Jim was the best friend and neighbor that we have ever had.
His genuine friendliness and day to day assistance can never be replaced. His love of his family, his music and his Allis Chalmers tractors were wonders to behold.
We will miss him and our place will never be the same without him.
We want to be there with you all this weekend but we are 1200 miles away and it would be nearly impossible to get back in time.
    With great fondness and regret
    Penny and Ken
