Peacefully at South Huron Hospital, Exeter on Saturday, August 13, 2011 in his 75th year. Beloved husband of Doris (Bruce) Giddings. Dear father of Lee Anne and Michael Wiebe, D.J. and Glenn Chrysler, and grandfather of Ian. Also survived by his brother Robert and several nieces and nephews. Guy was a veterinarian in private practice at the Ark Animal Hospital in Orillia for many years. He moved to Exeter over twenty years ago to work as a regional veterinarian in the meat inspection program for the Ontario government. In retirement he enjoyed curling, golfing and his vegetable garden. The family would like to thank the staff at South Huron Hospital and also the many friends who dropped in to visit for a few minutes during his stay there. As per Guy’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
Friends may call at the Haskett Funeral Home, 370 William Street, 1 west of Main, Exeter on Wednesday evening 7-9 PM. A private family service will be held at Kirk Cemetery, Bracebridge.
Donations to South Huron Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

Doris and the girls ……..I have so many marvelous memories of days gone bye. I am so sorry to hear this sad news. Sam told me he saw you ages ago when you were up visiting your Mama.
Should you ever be up this way it would be lovely to see you again.
I travel Front St. everyday .My thoughts and prayers are with you, he will have lots and lots of company with all those four legged friends up there.

We’re so sorry to hear of Guy’s passing. We first met Guy many years ago when we lived on Devon Drive in Exeter and we sincerely enjoyed our visits with him. He will be missed.

Doris, how sad Maurine and I are when we learned of Guys passing. Many years have passed since we were neighbors on Front St. I remember the times he would invite me a city boy to go with on country calls .I was always amazed at how he handled those very large animals with such ease..please know we are thinking of you and your loved ones at this most difficult time ..

I’m sorry to hear of Uncle Guys’ passing. Our condolences to you all. I have many fond memories of him from when we were kids.

He was a proud member of the 1959 OVC class and I will remember fondly all the wonderful reunions we had. The Class is meeting in PEI shortly and I will not be there but know that there will be many stories told about Guy and a special time of remembrance will be held.
