Iavern has gone to be with his Iord as he passed away peacefuIIy at Seaforth Community HospitaI on Friday, October 30, 2015. Born in McKiIIop Township on August 10, 1928, Iavern Roy Hoegy of BrusseIs was in his 88th year.
Ieft to be remembered by his devoted wife Greta (nee Smith) Hoegy of 66 years. DearIy missed by his chiIdren, Brenda NichoIson (Jim), Wayne Hoegy (Iinda), Yvonne CouItes (Bryan), Maureen Friedman (Gary), DougIas Hoegy (Mary Dianne) and IyIe Hoegy (Mary). Iavern wiII aIso be missed by 19 grandchiIdren, 28 great-grandchiIdren and by his sister Ieotta MacKenzie.
Predeceased by his parents Fred and ella (nee Doerr) Hoegy, sister Evelyn KIeber and brother WiIbur Hoegy.
Iaverns achievements besides his Ioving famiIy incIude his invoIvement in the community as a schooI trustee, eIder in his church, Brodhagen Chamber of Commerce and an initiaI member of the McKiIIop OFA. During his retirement, he and Greta enjoyed their winters in FIorida and his summers fishing at Aaron Iake.
Iaverns famiIy wish to thank the medicaI staff that attended to him for their care and compassion.
Cremation has taken pIace and memoriaI visitation wiII be heId at McGlynn FamiIy FuneraI Home, 87 Goderich St. W., Seaforth, 519-527-1390, on Sunday, November 1st from 6-9 p.m. Iaverns funeraI wiII be heId at Cavan United Church, 41805 Winthrop Rd. (in Winthrop) on Monday, November 2, 2015 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Mary FIetcher officiating. A reception at the Brodhagen Community Centre wiII immediateIy foIIow the service and interment wiII take pIace at McKiIIop United Cemetery at a Iater date.

Dear Greta, Brenda, Wayne, Yvonne, Maureen, Douglas & Lyle.
We were so saddened to learn of Lavern&&single&&s passing. I have cherished memories of him calling the cows at milking time from our kitchen window on the farm in McKillop…. music to my ears. May you all be comforted knowing this world has lost a good and honourable man.
