HODGINS: Stan of Arva

May 29, 2021 By Haskett Funeral Homes 53 Condolences

HODGINS: Stan of Arva

Peacefully at LHSC – Victoria Hospital on Friday, May 28, 2021 of Arva at the age of 76. Cherished husband of Norma (Parkinson) Hodgins for over 53 years. Proud father of the late Edward Hodgins, Clinton and Sandy Hodgins, and Martin Hodgins and Bonnie Baker Hodgins. Much loved grandpa Adam, Colton, Alecs, Sofia; Owen, and Abby. Stan will be missed by the Hodgins and Parkinson families. Predeceased by his parents Elmer and Violet (Crane) Hodgins.

Stan loved his family and friends very much. From the large annual family reunions to the small get togethers, he enjoyed having activity around the farm. He was often spending time in the sunroom, with Norma, just having time together. Stan’s sense of humour and quick wit will be remembered by everyone. It is doubtful a day shall pass without a reminder of Stan.

Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, LUCAN on Tuesday, June 1st from 12 – 2 PM. Due to Provincial COVID-19 restrictions, each person must RSVP for the visitation in the funeral home. Please click “Register Now” below to register.

A drive-thru visitation will be held at Stan and Norma’s farm, 14494 Medway Road, ARVA on Tuesday evening from 5 -7 PM. We would kindly ask that you remain in your vehicles during the drive-thru visitation.

A private funeral service will be held at the family farm on Wednesday, June 2nd at 11 AM. Interment St. John’s Cemetery, Arva. Though the service is private, the family invites you to join with them from the comfort of your own home. Stream the service live or at your convenience by visiting www.facebook.com/haskettfh.

Donations to SickKids Foundation, London Heath Sciences Foundation – Cancer Program, or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

    Dear Norma, Clinton, and Marti,

I got behind in reading the newspapers this past week, and was catching up on the week-end. Needless to say, I was saddened to learn of Stan’s passing. Please accept my heartfelt condolences on the loss of Stan. I too will miss him. He always was cheerful despite the many health issues he endured over the past years.
I have kept records from the beginning when I stored the boat, which was Oct. 14, 1991. Oct. 20, 2020 marked 29 years that I have had a connection with your family.
It is good that the Funeral Home has maintained links and a continuous running of the many family photos, for those who missed the opportunity to say our final farewell to Stan.
    Yours sincerely,

    Harry
