After a brief but fiercely fought battle with cancer Glenn peacefully passed on January 26, 2020 of RR#2 Crediton in his 68th year. Companion to Peggy Snell. Predeceased by wife of 25 years Grace Hodgins (2016). Father of Scott Hodgins of Hensall, Dennis & Taryn Hodgins of Edmonton, Michelle and Elliott MacDonald of Lucknow, Kristy Barnes and Ken Savage of Sarnia and Step-father of Shanna & Brian Barnim of Bayfield and Shelley and Dave Bryson of Exeter. Loved grandfather of Kylie, Ethan, Blake, Karaleena and Careese, Spencer, Koedi, Kurtis and Chelsea. Brother of Mary Hodgins of Ailsa Craig, June and Gerry Glavin of Centralia, and Mona & Dwayne Ritchie of Parkhill. Predeceased by an infant sister Lenore and his parents Harvey and Lois Hodgins. Glenn enjoyed farming beside his father for over 5 decades, spending 16 winters with his friends at Pioneer RV park in North Ft. Myers, FL and strumming and humming to so many friends across Southern Ontario. Glenn served community on Gay Lea Foods board of directors, Huron County Holstein Club, Dashwood Men’s association, the Exeter and Hensall Legion and Crediton United Church. The only thing Glenn liked more than telling stories and playing cards was playing his guitar and singing for anyone and everyone who would listen.
Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 370 William Street, EXETER on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM, where the funeral service will be held on Friday, January 31st at 11 AM with Bob Heywood officiating. Interment St. Mary’s Brinsley Anglican Cemetery, Brinsley. A reception will be held at the Exeter Legion from 1-4 PM. Please feel free to bring your instruments and join in the music celebration to honour Glenn.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the South Huron Hospital Foundation, Hensall Legion or the amazing team at Jessica’s House.
We are always willing to go where called upon but this image shows a visual of the communities that our included in our initial transportation fee. We offer a 40km radius from any of our 5 locations (Arva (London), Exeter, Lucan, Seaforth, and Zurich). Any mileage beyond the included 40km will be charged a rate of $2.50/km (one way travel only).
