Our thought go out to Jean and family,
I worked with Scat at DI and we had many good times. Fridays after work a group of us would hit the bar for a drink and have some laughs.
After both of us left DI we did lose contact for a while then found each other again on Facebook. When I was looking for someone to clean my husband’s computer he said that is what he did so we paid him to come do the job. When my husband gave me a laptop for Christmas one year I had no idea how to set it up and Scat came over to do it. When I offered to pay him for his time he said no that was his Christmas present to me. That’s the kind of guy he was.
We had a family party this year on July 29. Scat was over visiting our neighbours and decided to stop in. I was in the kitchen getting stuff out for supper and I turned around and there was Scat. I was surprised and happy to see him and gave him a big hug. I had invited another friend who had worked at DI so he sat with her and her husband. He had a beer , we all ate supper together and talked about the good old days when we all worked at DI and had some laughs. I am so glad he just stopped by and we got to hang out one last time.
When he went missing the people who shared the post and were worried about him was unbelievable. He never harmed a soul and was a great person. My heart goes out to you and your family .
Dear Jean: So sorry to hear of your son’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

Dear Jean and family,
Words can not convey how grieved I was to hear about the passing of Scott; it seems surreal. I wish I were there to hold you and give you comfort. I enjoyed Scott coming into the living room and chatting with me when I was visiting you; pleasant conversations. I will cherish the memory of Scott being the waiter at my birthday dinner. Hold on to your memories as they are a precious gift. God is your comfort and strength. He will be there for you.
Jean, Brenda and all the families,
We were saddened to read of Scott’s passing and had not heard of Grant’s earlier death in 2001. How heart breaking for all of you! With interest, I appreciated the family photos as they brought back memories of our days together at Usborne Central School. Jean, we certainly spent a lot of practice time together!
Please accept our deepest sympathy and know that prayers and warm thoughts are coming your way from B.C.
Lois and Ken Ottewell, St. Ives, B.C.
Wow! To say I am in shock, would be a tremendous understatement.
When I was much younger, I hung around Grant and that crew. As Scott was much younger, I really didn’t pay much attention to him which is normal.
When Scott got older he had developed a crush on one of my nieces and was bound and determined he was going to marry her. It was actually because of my niece I got to know Scott.
Over the years we became pretty good friends.
When Scott went missing, I was very concerned and reposted the notice, and made suggestions where he might be.
So, when I saw this obituary, it has left me very saddened.
Scott was a great person. A gentle soul.
He is going to be missed by a lot of people as he was well loved by so many.
My deepest heart felt condolences to his family at their loss.
God Bless you all in this time of loss.
