Passed away peacefully at Queensway Long Term Care Home, with his family by his side on Monday, July 24, 2023 at the age of 94. Beloved husband of Kathleen (May) Hodgert for 68 years. Cherished father of Diane Ellis of Waterloo, and Alan and Michele Hodgert of RR1 Woodham. Adored grandfather of Christine Jakobsen; Alana Hodgert, Andrew and Britt Hodgert and Amanda Hodgert and great-grandfather of Evelyn; Axton and Hayden. Dear brother-in-law of Jean Hodgert of Exeter, and Ombra May of London. Fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and the extended Hodgert family. Predeceased by his brother, sister, and in-laws Marion and Arnold Cann, Reg Hodgert, Douglas and Marjorie May, Murray May, Marian Tinney, and his parents James and Mary (Miller) Hodgert.
Ross was an avid farmer his whole life who enjoyed curling, golfing, baseball and painting. Overall, his family was his pride and joy. Watching his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren grow up was his greatest accomplishment.
Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 456 Main Street, EXETER on Thursday, July 27th from 2 – 4 PM and 6 – 8 PM, where Ross’ funeral service will be held on Friday, July 28th at 11 AM. Interment Exeter Cemetery.

So sorry to hear about Ross. It sounds like he had a good and full life. I know my mother (Shirley Coates Doherty) had been friendly with Ross and Kay. I think Ross and my mother were close in age. I used to run into Ross and Kay at the McD’s at the North end of Exeter on our way to Stratford for a play. When my mother was alive, she used to visit with them at the picnic. I’ll be thinking of you and your families.

I will always remember Ross as a good neighbour who had a smile on his face whenever I seen him right from the time I was a kid right up to all the good times we had on the curling ice together.
